Remembering top 3 events in 2013! +Secret Valentine gifts to all staff! +School Grade = A! +Student Performances (all!) Gifts, grades, and gatherings! There was a lot more to be thankful for but these events are reminders of the quality of education at Wekiva. Our students are the gifts, grades show their progress and we gathering to celebrate their work. With the New Year approaching, Wekiva resolutions are in the School Improvement Plan. Our staff is committed to increasing our students writing skills and to help the struggling students in math and reading build academic confidence. In 2014, I am optimistic that Wekiva will be fortunate and good things will happen to all. Until 2014, Ms. Adamczyk Parent Reminder When students are dismissed after school to go home, they must exit the area. The supervising staff is there to make sure all students have exited the campus. The picnic table area is not a playground. To prevent injury, students are not permitted on the tables or the wall in this area. Additionally, students eating outside for lunch are not permitted to climb on tables or the wall in this area. Community Kudos!!!! Huge thank you to Wekiva Super Pop, Mr.Pullan and Mr. Smoak for painting the playground tables. Kudos to Russell Tretter for volunteering at the A+ Honor Breakfast! Thanks to all the parents, grandparents and family members who came out to cheer and volunteer the day of our Fun Run! The students had a great time while raising money for our school. Your presence was enjoyed by the students and much appreciated by your PTA! Special thanks go out to Brown, Garganese, Weiss & D'Agresta, P.A. for partnering with us in support of this fundraiser. PTA would like to wish all the families at Wekiva a wonderful holiday season. We will be kicking off the New Year in January with our Winter Wonderland Dance on January 24th at Teague Middle School. Cross Country Koala Run This is our 8th Annual Cross Country Meet, The Koala Run is Saturday, December 14. There will be schools throughout the district here to compete. Flyers went home regarding this event. 6 and under, boys and girls Seminole County Public Schools www.scps.k12.fl.us or www.wekivaelementary.com given to places 1 -15 in all age groups immediately after each race. Holiday Reading Log! Coming home with the newsletter is the Holiday Reading Log. Parents reading every night during the winter break increases oral fluency and reading comprehension! Student Council News Students Council did a GREAT job collected food items for our Wekiva Pantry. Thank you families for your contributions. Kindergarten brought in bags of goodies and books for the Bags of Hope Organization. Learning about civic duty in Kindergarten!
