Piping Engineer
Key responsibilities
The Piping engineer shall be responsible for the Project Execution covering all Engineering Phases from Proposal, Basic, Detail, Commissioning and Construction. The Piping Engineer shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Ensuring adequate flexibility in critical piping systems. Definition of Stress Analysis scope of supply. Development of piping specifications (customize/company Standard). Perform Stress analysis using renowned computer software (i.e Caesar 11). Technical co-ordination with all disciplines related to engineering effort. Prepare material requisitions for piping commodities and piping mechanical specialty items. Preparation of RFQ, Bid evaluations & coordination with vendors. Interface with Materials Controls system, to ensure commodity purchase. Participation in Design Reviews. Verification of client specifications and requirements. Preparation of all associated lists, i.e. Specialty items, Piping tie-ins etc. Maintain material / valve description database up-to-date. Develops / maintains standard specification sheets for engineered items. Update of line list and provide necessary input to line list.
Required qualification
Professional qualification, skills and experience: BS or licensure and equivalent experience, PE preferred. A minimum of 8-12 years of full-range piping engineering experience in a petroleum refinery or petrochemical plant required. Working knowledge of International Codes and Standards. Complete familiarity with Respective Codes (i.e. B31.3). Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software, Lotus Notes and other Company and discipline specific software applications. Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently climb to heights of 100 feet.
