Khulasa al-Madad al-Nabawi (The Essence Of The Prophetic Support) -The Mughal Script

Assalamu alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh May this paper find you and your families in the best of health and imaan. We are a group of brothers from the United Kingdom who are intending to put together a Mughal script Khulasa that can be used by people here in the UK and the rest of the Muslim world. The Khulasa is written by Shaykh Habib Umar bin Hafidh (May Allah SWT preserve him) and is a book of daily Prophetic invocations and litanies. Imam Abdallah ibn Alawi al-Haddad (Allah have mercy on him) (d.1132 Hijri) said, The aim and spirit of spiritual routines (awrad) is presence with Allah (SWT). Aim for it; you will reach it only if you travel the road that leads to it, which is performing the external activities and striving to be present with Allah during them. When you persevere in this you become immersed in the lights of Proximity, and the sciences of gnosis emanate upon you, at which your heart becomes wholly intent on God and presence becomes its nature and well-established quality. [The Book of Assistance] A wird is any regular routine of worship, such as prayer, remembrance (dhikr), supplication (dua) and fasting (sawm). One can also consider regular routines of religious study and reading to be a wird. It is sunna to be consistent in ones works; to focus not only on actions, but on excellence in ones actions; and to strive for gradual, meaningful increase that is sustainable. The consistent reading of the Khulasa will InshAllah help the polishing of the heart. By striving to remain persistent in reading the invocations with conviction and presence, InshAllah this will lead to the seekers purification and the pleasure of Allah (SWT) A brief has been attached to provide the reader with further information about the Mughal script Khulasa and we kindly request you to please assist us financially in this blessed project. We aim for the completed book to be a masterpiece which has been devoted upon with time and effort by those involved; and to include a forward, spiritual and blood Sanads

(chains of transmission) from Shaykh Habib Umar bin Hafidh and the invocations. There is a dedicated team of individuals who will be overseeing the project from the UK to Pakistan, where it will be written by a specialist calligrapher. The account details of where to transfer your donations has been provided below in the brief and as stated a full breakdown of receipts and trail will be provided to anyone per request. If anyone has any further questions or would like to contact us, the details are below May Allah make us of the people of sincerity, consistency, trueness in turning to Allah (SWT) and of those whom Allah (SWT) accepts, loves and grants His spiritual beholding, such that we worship, submit, and live as though we behold Him, with every step and breath expended on the footsteps of His Beloved Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless you give (freely) of that which ye love; and whatever ye give, of a truth Allah knoweth it well. [Surah al Imran 3:92] And Allah (SWT) alone gives success.

The Brief

What is the Khulasa?

Khulasa al-Madad al-Nabawi (The Essence of the Prophetic Support) is a book of duas, adhkar, awrad and qasaid (spiritual odes) which are used in Tarim, Yemen. It is further read across the world by those who follow the BaAlawi tariqa (spiritual path) and by those who have no particular way but nevertheless follow the Prophetic methodology. The book has been compiled by Sayyidi al-Habib Umar b. Muhammad b. Hafiz (may Allah (SWT) help us to benefit from him). It is a book of Prophetic invocations that is read by Muslims to connect to Allah (SWT) and the Prophet (SAW) from the beginning to the end of the day.

Why is a Mughal Script Khulasa necessary?

The current Khulasa was solely written in the Usmani script and appeals to those who are competent with Arabic. However, around the world there is a significant percentage of Muslims who are unfamiliar with the Usmani script. In the United Kingdom a substantial proportion of the Muslims are from the Indian Subcontinent (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) and are unaccustomed to the Usmani script. For this reason many Muslims across the world find it difficult to read the Khulasa book in its current edition. A Khulasa written in the Mughal Script would aid many Muslims to benefit by reading it in a style that they are more familiar with. The Mughal Script would then be available for global distribution including in the UK to benefit Muslims who are also acquainted with this script and InshAllah the intention here is to benefit the Ummah worldwide.

Ijaza
The Mughal Script Khulasa proposal was presented to Shaykh Habib Umar bin Hafidh and he approved of the suggestion. Shaykh Habib Umar has further advised us that he will provide a spiritual Sanad (a spiritual chain of transmission that goes back to the Prophet SAW) and a blood lineage Sanad that will InshAllah be included in the Mughal Script Khulasa which will be of enormous spiritual benefit and full of barakah. We have put forward a request to Shaykh Habib Umar to InshAllah provide us with a Arabic forward for the Mughal script Khulasa and are awaiting confirmation to this. Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad has been contacted and asked to be kind enough to translate the Arabic forward should Shaykh Habib Umar InshAllah provide this along with the lineages. He was keen on the idea when we spoke to him.

Who will design and Write the Mughal Script Khulasa?

The person responsible for writing the Mughal Script Khulasa is Sajjad Khalid, the editor of Calligraphy Islamic. Further details on the designer can be found on http://calligraphyislamic.com. He has completed the Shadhili awrad book in the Mughal script that is currently being used by students under the guidance of Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Keller.

The Request For Contribution

The purpose of this brief is to inform the general public in the UK that as students of knowledge we are proposing to ask Sajjad Khalid from Calligraphy Islamic in Pakistan, to write the first Mughal Script Khulasa with approval from Sayyidi al-Habib Umar b. Muhammad b. Hafidh. On completion of the first copy, subsequent Mughal Script Khulasas will InshAllah serve the communities from the Indian subcontinent worldwide and allow them to easily read the litanies in a way which is more accessible to them. However, before we can commence with this project we need to raise 4200, which will be paid to Sajjad Khalid in advance, thus allowing for him to commence his efforts in producing a masterpiece, which will be treasured. Consequently, the support and generosity of the wider community is required for this good cause. We would kindly like to please request for all donations to be deposited at your earliest convenience into the account (details below). In addition, it would be appreciated if you could please contemporaneously submit an email to the following address khulasaproject@hotmail.co.uk and provide your name in full and how much you have kindly donated.

These details will be used to compile a database to maintain a transparent audit trail of the funds donated and gather a full trail of documents, invoices and receipts which will InshAllah be shared with all to ensure there is full accountability for this sincere project. JazakAllah Khair
