I am interested in the GA position. I am a Ph.

D student in the human computer

interaction option, ISE. My research focuses on the usability, cognition, and human

factors issues in designing a web system. I am capable of designing a web using HTML,

CSS, PHP, MYSQL, AJAX, DOM, XML, JAVA beans, and Oracle database. I am

capable of working in both Windows and Unix environment.

Currently many websites have been built, however the usability of these websites is

not satisfying to many of website browsers, who are their direct or indirect customers.

Most of web designers are just software engineers, who may not have sufficient web

usability recognition. The web designed by software engineers may turn out to be lack of

good usability. The lack of usability means it brings much more physical/mental loads to

web browsers with respect to reading, obtaining information rapidly and correctly. For

example, the web texts color, the web color contrast, the font size, the complexity of web

menus, the web contents complexity/readability, the use of chunking to ensure better

readability and knowledge perception rate etc. During my Ph.D studies, in addition to

gaining more technical details related to web programming language, I have built the

recognition for the importance of web usability, web cognition, and human factors issues

related to designing a web system. Beside of this, I also have established the entire

project management capability, working independently on the project gained from the

past project experiences.

I am very interested in developing high quality websites. I will not be funded in

any kind of assistantship in the coming spring semester, as a result, I am qualified for the

GA position.
