These issues are inherently controversial themselves because although there are facts that may help you understand them; ultimately you see these facts through the prism of your own perception (values, morals, upbringing, etc.)! The sources listed are just a starting point, remember that any information may be biased and it is your job as an educated consumer to carefully analyze information for validity, reliability, and bias. Goal: Provide an analysis of the recent developments in reproductive health demonstrating an understanding of content specific information necessary to understand each issue (ie. Yes, it is called Gardasil.

It does promote promiscuity; it is kind of a safety net for people who sleep around. And yes we should take advantage of this vaccine.

Level 5/Extra Credit/Going Beyond: Define Herd Immunity and explain how it applies to the debate. Herd immunity is when a majority of the population get a vaccination for a disease, that will protect other people in the population against the disease. This applies because if a lot of people are getting the vaccination, then more people in the world are protected against this.

Basic Overview: Plan B is a birth control pill you can use 5 days after having unprotected sex.

Intended Use (Why people use it): If you have had unprotected sex and you feel like you are becoming pregnant, you can take the pill and you will not have to worry about having a baby.

Mechanism of action-how it works:

Only works if egg hasnt been fertilized yet. It prevents the ovulation process. Doesnt not abort the baby it stops it from happening. Level 5: How is this similar/different than the abortion pill (RU-486)?
Plan b is a very high dose of the same hormone.

Does this promote people not taking accountability for their choices or provide an alternative to someone not wanting to get pregnant? This absolutely doesnt help people be accountable for their actions; this tells them that if they make a mistake then they do not have to deal with the consequences.

This will show people the consequences of having a baby because they still have to carry the baby but it will let the parents get rid of the responsibility of having a baby. Level 5: How do state laws vary on this?
