: Light, Colour and Sight : 7.1 Synthesising the formation of image by plane mirrors and lenses : Understanding the rules to draw the diagram when the ray of light pass through the lenses

Learning Outcome: By the end of this lesson, students should be able to: a) Draw the ray diagram when parallel rays pass through the lens. b) Understand the rules to draw the ray diagram c) Draw the ray diagram based on the rules. Scientific and Thinking Skills Pre-requisite knowledge : Observing, identifying, classifying, comparing and contrasting, analyzing, reasoning : Students should be already able to:

a) state the characteristics of images formed by a plane mirror, b) label the raw diagram when the parallel ray pass through the lense ( not enough time to go more detail in previous lesson) Teaching and learning approaches : 1) Motivating set and facilitating in set induction 2) Guided learning and expository approach in the developmental phase Teaching aids / technology : Whiteboard, convex and concave lens, spectacles, torchlight, mahjong paper
