Your ○ Your sign should be 3D in some nature to add visual interest.

restrictions: ○ Your sign must be easy to read at all angles.
○ Your sign must be primarily constructed out of foam core.
○ Your sign must be constructed well (able to have weight
applied to it, and withstand being hung for a week on the
wall with no ill effects.
○ Your sign may be no bigger than 5’x 2’
○ Your sign must have the words Technology Education (lab is

sign.
○ Your sign should have some form of applicable graphics.

Your ○ Foam core

materials: ○ Rubber cement
○ Hot glue
○ Any applicable cutting & manipulation tools necessary
○ Computer generated graphics (optional)

The process: ○ Step 1- Research- Research the site of where the sign will be
applied, take whatever necessarymeasurements are needed.
Please keep these notes and other information on a separate
sheet of paper and label it research (this will be turned in
with the rest of your project)
○ Step 2- Brainstorm- Create a minimum of at least 4 potential
layouts of the sign, as well as mounting systems for each of
the signs. Please include notation as to which elements of
the sign are 3D, also please include general sizes of the sign
(length x height). Please label your potential ideas as
brainstorming.
○ Step 3- Plan- Provide a detailed plan of the final idea of the
sign & mounting system. Please include color, notation of 3D
objects, and text layout. (if you wish this can be computer
generated if you wish, although it is not required). Please
label your plan as layout.
○ Step 4- Build it- Then build your sign prototype to the

colors on you plan.

Assessment
Name:

Step 1- Research

(possible points for this section, 35) Total Points

Step 2- Brainstorming- 4 potential ideas

Brainstorming is present, labeled, and shows thought (45 pts)
