The deeper meaning of simplifying goes beyond
renouncing one's "material possessions" to also
include one's "mental possessions": the old habits
and grudges, the old ways of looking at things,
ideas you hang on to and cherish. Abandon all
the things that wear you down, that confne and
limit you.
