Once it is posted, the position will be opened for two weeks. If all goes well, we might have a person in this position in March. Once the position is open, an email will be send to prevention coordinators to apply or assist with recruitment. PG Prevention In-Person Meetings: Discussion regarding whether providers like to have pg prevention meetings aligned with the Prevention Summits, separate all day meetings, or meetings tagged on to in-person PGS All Provider meetings. Overall response was to align with the A/D Prevention Summits as there is not enough money to travel to separate trainings. AMH staff will try and arrange trainings/meeting to best meet all needs. Check In and Sharing: Jennifer from Lincoln Announced that the A/D Prevention Summit will occur the week of May 19-23 in Lincoln City at the hotel next to the casino. It is meeting co-hosted by Siletz Tribe and AMH. Meeting will be held at the hotel and will not be located at casino. This summit is an integration of the prevention summit and 9 tribes quarterly meeting and will be for prevention coordinators and an array of tribal professionals. Meeting location cannot be changed and it is customary for tribal meetings to occur near tribal casino, as staying at hotels associated with casino support tribal business. Group discussed concerns, however determine that this is a great opportunity to work with tribes and get our message out. This topic will continue to remain on future meeting agendas to discuss messaging and potential partnership. Jennifer from Lincoln County is part of planning committee for this summit to

assist with partnership and Greta will connect with Jason Yarmer at AMH for him to assist with working with the tribes. Greta to see if they would be willing to provide a high level overview of changes and potential impacts to coordinators at upcoming meeting. Jean from Josephine County: Southern Oregon is getting ready for large deployment of National Guard troops. This is a good time to reach out to this population. Jean from Josephine County: Thinking about starting a Facebook page and wondering if any good ones exist to model from and how effective they are. Group suggested that she review the Oregon Coalition of Prevention Professionals. Additionally, Crook County has another good page. Discussion Topics: OPGAW Planning: Discussion on what counties plan to implement for OPGAW this year was premature. Most counties have not given it much thought at this time. This will be focus of next meeting and added to agenda. Discussion revolved around what was done last year by counties. Lane County- focused on parents and gambling is a risky behavior and associated data from Student Wellness Survey Washington County- focused on integration of A/D/MH professionals and teachers and establishing relationships

Josephine County- currently designing comic book Douglas County- may look at way to tie into MORE Campaign and PCN messaging around social norming. What counties would like from State: Resource Guide/fact sheets with new OHT data (connection between youth gambling and other problem behaviors), stock media advisory and op ed. pieces. Rusha, epidemiologist for SWS and OHT data, out until end of January on vacation and Karen LaPointe, who has done much of the youth gambling data for us, is out until April on Medical Leave due to car accident with broken pelvis. AMH is under resourced and Greta to look for other alternatives to get factsheets and data for pg providers.
