+olossians 5:5? when @a#l writes, 0*ho hath delivered #s from the power of dar$ness, and hath translated #s into the $ingdom of his dear son.> hat word 0deli0e$ed> is also from the Gree$ word !n +olossians 5:5?, this word portra"s that moment when Jes#s +hrist %ro$e ,atan1s power over o#r lives and snatched #s o#t of the $ingdom of dar$ness. -ne Gree$ e8positor sa"s the word delivered in +olossians 5:5? carries this idea: !He grabbed us by the back of our necks and snatched us out of danger, "ust in the nick of time #$ his Gree$ word delivered contains passion, %est, importance, and action

!n Matthew 12:25 Jes#s sa"s, 090e$" !ingdom di0ided again t it el# i ($ought to de olation' and e0e$" ,it" o$ hou edi0ided again t it el# hall not tand)+ his means the $ingdom of God has an enem" that can divide #s. Jes#s and ,atan %oth have $ingdoms, and the" are opposed to one another. ,atan is the head of the $ingdom of dar$ness. (or the most part, he has %een the agent %ehind the s"stems of this world. Jes#s, who is the head of the $ingdom of light, reveals ,atan1s deception in John A:?4;??: As [Jesus] spake these words, many believed on him. hen said Jesus to those Jews whi!h believed on him, "f ye !ontinue in my word, then are ye my dis!iples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. hey answered him,#e be Abraham$s seed, and were never in bondage to any man%how sayest thou, &e shall be made free' ,atan deceives religio#s people into %elieving the" are free, or accepted %" God, apart from the %lood of Jes#s +hrist. hese Jews %elieved the" were free simpl" %eca#se the" were %orn Jews. he" were in %ondage to the $ingdom of dar$ness, %#t the" didn1t even $now it. oda" man" people<especiall" religio#s people<are %o#nd in the $ingdom of dar$ness %#t the" don1t $now it %eca#se the enem" has deceived them. Jes#s f#rther reveals the devil1s hidden schemes in verse 44, sa"ing, &e are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. (e was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, be!ause there is no truth in him. #hen he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own% for he is a liar, and the father of it. Jes#s is sa"ing that the enem" p#ts press#re on people to cooperate with his evil s"stem, and the" are often #naware. /e lies to them and the" %elieve his lies. hen the" %ecome liars. -nce Jes#s has translated #s into /is $ingdom at the new %irth, God wants #s to $now what the devil is doing and separate o#rselves from the $ingdom of dar$ness and its wa" of living. /e wants to e8pose and %rea$ the strongholds that have held #s in %ondage to the world1s s"stem, and /e wants to train #s to ta$e dominion and %ecome witnesses of the $ingdom. !n Batthew ?, John the 'aptist %egins to preach a%o#t the two $ingdoms.

"n those days !ame John the Baptist prea!hing in the wilderness of Judea and saying, )epent ye for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 3:1 John called people to repent<to t#rn awa" from sin and their old wa" of doing things<and to see$ God and /is wa" of doing things. /e was sa"ing, essentiall", 0+hange "o#r wa" of thin$ing and t#rn to God. +ome o#t of the $ingdom of dar$ness and enter the $ingdom of God.> he people in !srael at this time were #nder the .aw of Boses. he" $ept the laws and sacrificed their livestoc$ and prod#ce for their atonement. he" depended on the high priest to mediate %etween themselves and God. hen John the 'aptist came along and said, 0) new da" is coming9> Jeremiah also prophesied this new da": Behold, the days !ome, saith the *ord, that " will make a new !ovenant with the house of "srael, and with the house of Judah% not a!!ording to the !ovenant that " made with their fathers in the day that " took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of +gypt; whi!h my !ovenant they brake, although " was an husband unto them, saith the *ord% but this shall be the !ovenant that " will make with the house of "srael; after those days, saith the *ord, " will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall tea!h no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, ,now the *ord% for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the *ord% for " will forgive their ini-uity, and " will remember their sin no more. 2e$emiah 31:31-34 Jeremiah was prophes"ing a%o#t the Bessiah1s entrance into the earth. /e was sa"ing, 0Jes#s is coming.> his is what John the 'aptist was anno#ncing to the Jews. heir Bessiah was here9 /e had a transition ministr": /e was leading God1s people o#t of the s"stem of the -ld +ovenant .aw and into the s"stem of grace. /e was a prophet, preparing the Jews to receive the Bessiah. /e was tearing #p hard gro#nd in their hearts and softening them to receive the engrafted *ord of God, Jes#s, who wo#ld change their hearts. he evidence that the" had received John1s ministr" and message was %eing %apti2ed. his showed that the" were willing to t#rn from tr"ing to do things on their own and to depend on God. he" were t#rning from the s"stem of this world to the s"stem of the $ingdom of God. his is what God wants #s to do toda". 7ven if we have accepted Jes#s as o#r .ord and ,avior, we still have to t#rn from the s"stem of this world in order to live in the realit" of God1s $ingdom. Translated Into God&s 'ingdom he (ather sent Jes#s into the earth carr"ing the $ingdom of God on /is sho#lders. (!sa. C:D.) !n John 5A:?D, Jes#s said,

0B" $ingdom is not of this world.> Jes#s is the King of the $ingdom of God. *hen we were saved, we were translated o#t of the $ingdom of dar$ness into /is $ingdom. he onl" wa" into the $ingdom of God is to %e %orn into it. *hen the 'i%le sa"s we are %orn again, in the original Gree$ it sa"s we are %orn from a%ove.5 *e are act#all" %orn from heaven<another government, another co#ntr"<the $ingdom of God. Jes#s pra"ed, 0. m" :athe$ hath ent me& e0en o end - "ou> (John 34:35). -nce we are in /is $ingdom, Jes#s sends #s o#t into the world to represent /im. @a#l sa"s in 2 5o$inthian 5:20& 6;ow a$e "ou am(a ado$ #o$ 5h$i t)+ Jes#s is the King, and we are /is am%assadors. )n am%assador is sent to a far;off nation to represent the $ing. *e are +hrist1s am%assadors sent to represent /im and ta$e care of diplomatic %#siness on /is %ehalf. *hen we come into the land, we don1t sa", 0*ell, ! thin$....> No, we sa", 0Jes#s said....> *e call /is name. 5olo ian 3:17 sa"s, 0/hat oe0e$ "e do in wo$d o$ deed& do all in the name o# the <o$d 2e u )+ *e are representatives of Jes#s in this world. *hen Jes#s was alive, /e preached the gospel of the $ingdom and met ever"one1s needs. hen /e said, "t is useful for you that " go away% for if " go not away, the .omforter will not !ome unto you; but if " depart, " will send him unto you. 2ohn 16:7 Entil Jes#s was %orn, the /ol" ,pirit had never %efore resided within h#man flesh. *hile /e wal$ed the earth, the /ol" ,pirit was in /im. /owever, Jes#s1 ph"sical %od" was limited to one location, so the helpf#lness of the /ol" ,pirit was limited. oda", thro#gh the %od" of +hrist, the /ol" ,pirit can sat#rate the whole earth. *hen the /ol" ,pirit came into the earth after Jes#s1 ascension, /e set #p residence inside of ever" %eliever. -nce we are %orn again, the +omforter lives inside #s. *e come into the $ingdom of God, and at the same time the $ingdom of God comes inside of #s. )s %elievers, we have the whole $ingdom of God inside of #s. he $ingdom of God will spread thro#gho#t the entire earth thro#gh the %od" of +hrist. his e8plains wh" Jes#s said, (e that believeth on me, the works that " do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; be!ause " go unto my /ather. And " will pray the /ather, and he shall give you another .omforter, that he may abide with you for ever. 2ohn 14:12&16 Jes#s was sa"ing that the +omforter co#ld do greater wor$s, or more wor$s, %" coming to live inside man" %elievers. !nstead of onl" doing wor$s thro#gh Jes#s, /e co#ld wor$ thro#gh man", man" others. he /ol" ,pirit made the whole $ingdom availa%le to all who wo#ld %elieve on Jes#s. )s %elievers, we now have the $ingdom in #s, and thro#gh #s the /ol" ,pirit will ca#se the $ingdom to come to earth as it is in heaven.

Now we can #nderstand the psalmist1s words, 0. thou and hall #all at th" ide& and ten thou and at th" $ight hand' (ut it hall not ,ome nigh thee+ >P ) 91:7?) God1s protection is one provision of the $ingdom that is inside of #s. *e can1t see the $ingdom. Jes#s said, 0 he $ingdom of God cometh not with o%servation: neither shall the" sa", .o here9 or, lo there9> /owever, the $ingdom is more real than an"thing we can see with o#r ph"sical e"es. *hen we receive Jes#s, we receive it all. *e have a spirit#al fo#ntain inside, and we will never thirst again. (2ohn 4:13.) *e will never have to go to another fo#ntain. 7ver"thing we need is inside of #s. God will %ring to #s, lead #s to, and create for #s ever"thing that we need in this earth, independent of what1s going on aro#nd #s. )hat )e Have Is for the *ations Jes#s said, 63e that (elie0eth on me& a the ,$iptu$e hath aid& out o# hi (ell" hall #low $i0e$ o# li0ing wate$+ >2ohn 7:38?) he well is meant to provide water for #s and o#r families, %#t the river is also meant to provide for the nations. )s %elievers, we contain $ingdom provisions to ta$e care of the nations of the earth. Not onl" do we have nat#ral provision for the people of the world, %#t we have the s#pernat#ral provision the" need as well. ho#gh the" ma" not reali2e it, the" are enslaved to the $ingdom of dar$ness. hro#gh fear and deception, demons infl#ence people to live in a wa" that is not right %efore God. Femonic spirits control the #ngodl" $ingdoms of this world. -n the other hand, when we sa" Jes#s1 name, demons lose gro#nd in this world. )s am%assadors for the King of the $ingdom of God, we have come into this world not to ta$e sides %#t to ta$e over. *e have come to p#ll the devil1s s"stem down and to esta%lish the $ingdom of God on earth. o do that, we have to %e witnesses to people. *e have to help them tr#st in a $ingdom that the" cannot see with their ph"sical e"es. !f we want to %e witnesses of the $ingdom, then we will have to see it and e8perience it for o#rselves; then we will %e a%le to demonstrate it. /e need $e0elation& and we ha0e to ,hange ou$ #o,u #$om thi wo$ld to the !ingdom o# %od)

Heaven&s Treasure vs +ammon -nce we have the $ingdom inside, the /ol" ,pirit1s =o% is to help #s to get the world o#t of #s. -nl" then can we %e in the world %#t not of the world. his reG#ires a t#rning awa" from o#r own wa" and going God1s wa". *e repented when we received Jes#s +hrist and /is salvation; %#t as the /ol" ,pirit reveals to #s that we have tr#sted the world1s s"stem and not God in certain areas, we will need to repent again. *e cannot serve two masters. *e can1t serve the world and Jes#s. *e1re going to love one and hate the other. @eople sa" the"1re serving Jes#s, %#t the"1re holding on to the world1s s"stem. he world1s s"stem tells #s to %#ild #p earthl" treas#re, %#t Jes#s said: ,ay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light -ut if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness. *o man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other/ or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other 0e cannot serve God and mammon Batthew D:5C;36 his is the message Jes#s wanted to conve" to the rich "o#ng r#ler who as$ed /im, 0Good Baster, what shall ! do to inherit eternal life&> (.#$e 5A:5A). Jes#s said, 0 ho# $nowest the commandments, Fo not commit ad#lter", Fo not $ill, Fo not steal, Fo not %ear false witness, /ono#r th" father and th" mother> (v. 34). he rich "o#ng r#ler replied confidentl", 0)ll these have ! $ept from m" "o#th> (v. 35). /e was religio#s, and he had %een caref#l to do ever"thing on the list. '#t then Jes#s said, 0Yet lac$est tho# one thing: sell all that tho# hast, and distri%#te #nto the poor, and tho# shalt have treas#re in heaven: and come, follow me> (v. 33). Notice, /e didn1t sa", 0Yo#1re going to go %ro$e.> /e said, in essence, 0Yo#1ll have treas#re on a higher plane, and that treas#re is availa%le when "o# need it.> *hen Jes#s spo$e to that rich "o#ng r#ler, /e was tr"ing to show him who his real god was. /is real god was not the .ord God Jehovah. /is real god was his mone". !f o#r mone" is telling #s what to do, it1s o#r god. *hen the rich "o#ng r#ler heard Jes#s sa" that the onl" thing he lac$ed was to sell 0what "o# have and give to the poor> and follow /im, he %owed his head and wal$ed awa". /e co#ldn1t do that, %eca#se he tho#ght he was going to lose something. /e didn1t have the f#ll revelation of the $ingdom of God %eca#se his foc#s was divided %etween the world s"stem and God1s $ingdom.

Jes#s said, 0!f therefore thine e"e %e single, th" whole %od" shall %e f#ll of light.> !f o#r intent is to depend on God and o#r e"e is single, or o#r foc#s is entirel" on God, then o#r %od" will %e f#ll of the revelation that it ta$es to live in the $ingdom of God. /owever, if we tr" to loo$ at God a little %it and tr" to hold onto the world1s s"stem %eca#se we1re not s#re if 0this God thing> will wor$, then dar$ness will come in and we won1t have the light. .i$e the rich "o#ng r#ler, we1ll thin$ God is tr"ing to ta$e something from #s. *e1ll %ac$ #p and wal$ awa" and sa", 0No, /e won1t ta$e all this. ! wor$ed too hard for this.> /owever, with the revelation of the $ingdom, we will see that we are living in two realms. *e1re living in the $ingdom of God, and we1re living in the realm of the nat#ral, five ph"sical senses. *itho#t Jes#s +hrist, that sense realm is the %o#ndar" of life. /owever, once we %ecome %orn again, we receive a new life<eternal life<which ta$es #s %e"ond nat#ral %o#ndaries into the place where all things %ecome possi%le. Now all things are possi%le to #s who %elieve. No other religion can offer this realit". /owever, the ch#rch has not %een demonstrating this new realit", so people have %een loo$ing at the ch#rch as if it represents an" other religion. hat will not %e the case for long. *e are entering a new da": a da" when the ch#rch will receive revelation of the $ingdom and reclaim the earth for the King.
