Job Family Level Descriptor Code Director. Role holder will direct and control the strategy and execution of the DIR Divisions activities. Will be responsible for driving divisional policy, processes and services in line with the FSAs strategic goals. Will have extensive knowledge and experience within area of expertise. May have considerable external exposure as a representative of the firm or as an industry expert. HOD Head of Department. Has strategic responsibility for own department within division. Will display strong leadership skills in relation to the FSAs Leadership Competencies. Will have extensive knowledge and functional expertise and is likely to be seen as a technical expert in their field. The role is balanced between day-to-day operation of Department and development of the departments strategic direction. Technical Head of Department. A subject matter expert who is deemed to be an industry expert (or leading practitioner) who is recruited and deployed principally on the basis of his/her very deep and specific skills set. A Technical HoD is likely to have considerable industry experience, for example, as a consultant or adviser, or to have held a Director (or similar) position within an authorised firm. Although Technical HoDs are not people managers or leaders, and will be recruited primarily on the basis of their relevant specialist knowledge and expertise, they are also expected to conform to the FSAs behavioural competencies. Regulatory Manager E. The key relationship owner between the FSA and a firm. Takes decisions about the firm in accordance with ARROW framework/escalation framework. Ensures team compliance/adherence to FSA internal and regulatory policy and procedures. Supports delivery of FSA/Departmental objectives through supervision of firm or group of firms. Leads and manages the team and provides management and technical guidance to team members. Coaches and develops staff to meet personal and corporate goals. In addition, the Reg E Relationship Manager is capable of supervising the most complex and technically challenging firms/groups of firms and able to influence the senior management of these firms/groups of firms in order to deliver supervision strategy. Manages multiple and complex issues across a broad range of businesses, multi-product, multi-range and cross sector. Has extensive depth of knowledge about, and expertise in, his or her own sector. Is able to develop and implement policy and articulate the consequences for the regulatory regime.
