By using conventional bleaching gels based on hydrogene peroxide only, patients are reporting again and again on paraesthesia effected for the most part by changing of temperature. Not only the reaction time but also the ph-value may be the reason for that because a large number of standard bleaching gels have acid characteristics. Recent evidence reveals that the use of hydrogene peroxide solutions with acid characteristics may lead to damages of the enamel within five minutes.

High tech bleaching gel that in contrast to conventional bleaching gels isnt based on hydrogen proxid (H2O2) only, but contains titanium dioxide (TiO2) additionally. Activation of the bleaching gel by the use of diode lasers with a wavelength of 810nm.
