Climatic Conditions $. Indi#idual shop drawings shall be submitted following the distribution of the coordination drawings and shall bear a stamp indicating that the work has been coordinated with other trades. The term !samples! includes natural materials fabricated items e(uipment de#ices appliances or parts thereof as specified and other samples as ma' be re(uired to determine whether kind (ualit' construction workmanship finish colour and other characteristics of materials conform to re(uirements of the Contract "ocuments. &amples shall establish kind (ualit' and other re(uired characteristics of #arious parts of the work. Except for finish colour and other aesthetic matters left to the Engineer!s decision b' the Contract "ocuments the Engineer!s re#iew and appro#al of shop drawings and samples submitted b' and appro#ed b' the Contractor is for general conformance with the design concept and information gi#en in the Contract "ocuments is onl' for the con#enience of the Engineer in following the work and shall not relie#e the Contractor from responsibilit' for an' de#iations from the re(uirements of the Contract "ocuments. The Engineer!s re#iew and appro#al shall not be construed as a complete check nor shall it relie#e the Contractor from responsibilit' for error of an' sort in shop drawings or schedules or from the necessit' of furnishing an' work re(uired b' the Contract "ocuments which ma' ha#e been omitted on the shop drawings. The Engineer!s re#iew and appro#al of a separate item shall not indicate re#iew and appro#al of the complete assembl' in which it functions.

The Contractor shall appoint one graduate Electrical Engineer full time with $- 'ears experience in similar works and registered with >uwait &ociet' of Engineers for the super#ision of the Electrical Installation Works. The name (ualifications and experience of the nominated engineers shall be submitted to the engineer for appro#al within $- da's of the receipt of the order to commence the works. An Electrical 6oreman of ., 'ears experience in similar pro:ect should be full time a#ailable on site for direct follow up and implementation of the electrical works. 6. <peration and *aintenance "ata $. .. The Contractor shall pro#ide operation and maintenance data for incorporation into a maintenance manual. Include the following operations and maintenance data+ a. "etails of design elements construction features component function and maintenance re(uirements to permit effecti#e start9up operation maintenance repair modification extension and expansion of an' portion or feature of installation. Technical data product data supplemented b' bulletins component illustrations and exploded #iews technical descriptions of items and parts listed. Wiring and schematic diagrams and performance data. Cames and addresses of local suppliers for items included in maintenance manuals. <perating manuals shall include full details of all normal engineering and maintenance switching operations. 4ro#ided on9call maintenance ser#ice for rectification of faults obser#ed in the s'stem with response time not more than .0 hours for non Kcritical faults and % hours for faults affecting the continued use or safet' of the building. If the'Fre on response the owner has the right to bring an' other contractor to sol#e the problem and deduct the cost from the retention of the contract.

A.

*anufacturers shall pro#ide their standard guarantees for products furnished under this Contract. 8owe#er such guarantees shall be in addition to and not in lieu of all other liabilities which manufacturers and the Contractor ma' ha#e b' law or b' other pro#isions of the Contract "ocuments. All materials items of e(uipment and workmanship furnished under this Contract shall carr' standard warrant' against all defects in materials and workmanship. An' faults due to defecti#e or improper material e(uipment workmanship or Contractor!s design which de#elop shall be made good forthwith b' and at the expense of the Contractor including all other damage done to areas materials and other s'stems resulting from this failure. Guarantee that all elements of the s'stems are of sufficient capacit' to meet the specified performance re(uirements as set forth herein or as indicated. Gpon receipt of notice from the Engineer of failure of an' part of s'stem or e(uipment during the period of maintenance the affected parts shall be replaced. The Tenderer shall submit with his offer detail prices of the spare parts he is re(uired to pro#ide under the Contract indicating the (uantit' and the unit rate of each item. OB CONDITIONS &e(uencing $. 5a' electrical works in ad#ance of pouring concrete slabs and construction of walls. <btain Engineer!s appro#al before commencing builder!s work in connection with electrical installation related shop drawing coordinated drawing and materials should be appro#ed prior to the work commencement. Before the permanent electricit' suppl' is connected the electrical installations must be complete tested and appro#ed b' the Engineer *EW *<C and 6ire Brigade and as9built drawings must be submitted to and appro#ed b' the *EW *<C and 6ire Brigade.

Gnless specificall' indicated otherwise normal emergenc' low #oltage cables and wiring shall be segregated throughout the installation generall' in the following manner+ $. Where normal and emergenc' cables ha#e to run together in tra's ducts or trenches the' shall be formed in two groups one normal and one emergenc'. Insulated Conductors+ Insulated conductor circuits shall where possible be segregated throughout b' enclosing in separate conduits trunking or trunking compartments.

6ire Alarms $. 6ire alarm cables shall be segregated from other ser#ices throughout and be either armoured and sheathed cable or insulated conductors enclosed in conduit or trunking as indicated on the drawings.

TESTING AND COMMISSIONING General $. The Engineer shall be authori@ed to inspect examine and test at an' reasonable time and in the premises of the manufacturer the (ualit' of the material used for the e(uipment to be supplied. These work inspections shall be limited to the following e(uipment+ 5ighting fixtures emergenc' power e(uipment main and sub9main distribution boards. 8e shall also be authori@ed to #erif' the (ualifications of the staff emplo'ed b' the manufacturer. &hould part of the e(uipment be subcontracted to another manufacturer the Contractor shall ensure that the Engineer is authori@ed to inspect examine and test the e(uipment in the premises of the &ub9Contractor. These inspection examinations and tests shall not relie#e the Contractor in an' case from this contractual responsibilit' and commitments. The Contractor shall notif' the Engineer in writing at least $- da's beforehand of the date and place at which an' e(uipment shall be a#ailable for tests to be made according to the pro#isions of the Contract. &hould the Engineer not ha#e appeared at the place indicated within ten da's following the date indicated b' the Contractor the latter shall proceed with the tests and it shall be

deemed that the Engineer had witnessed them. The Contractor shall send the Engineer dul' certified copies of the results of the tests. -. %. The Engineer shall notif' the Contractor of his intentions to attend the test .0 hours beforehand. &hould the Contract pro#ide for tests to be made in the premises of the Contractor or an' &ub9Contractors or suppliers.
