Plant Pictures: Starting with the HVAC unit and working counter clockwise.

Burning Bush- these are green in the Spring and Summer and then turn bright red in the Fall. They loose most of their leaves in the Winter, but are very twiggy so they offer a screen year round.

Crape Myrtle. Muskogee (purple) is pictured here. We also have Tuscarora (hot pink), Natchez (white), or Dynamite (red) available at this time. There are more colors as well, just let me know if there is one you would prefer. If you dont like crape myrtles, we can put something else on this corner as well.

Schip Laurels are suggested to go under the bricked in window. I have you priced for 30-36 Laurels. When they mature, they make great hedges, see second picture. They also have small white blooms.

Decorative grass option 1-This Mondo grass is used to ll up space the landscaping, they are inexpensive options.

Another decorative grass is Japanese Ice Sledge. It is very much like liriope or monkey grass but a better strain of the decorative grass. We suggest decorative grass in front of the laurels and also behind the Focal Tree in front of the porch.

These are Japanese Sky Pencil Hollies, we have these framing your front door steps and also the guest house front door. I have you priced for 2 ft shrubs, and they grow rather quickly compared to some shrubs. We can also nd 4-5 foot options if youd like something that is taller and will offer more contrast.

These are Green Velvet Boxwoods, we have this as a line of approx. 13 of these along the sidewalk to your front door. We could also use Gulf Stream Nandinas in this place if you would like to instead.

Gulf Stream Nandina are related to the bamboo plant, and they change colors with the seasons, turning red, green, and gold in the Fall and Winter. They are mostly green with a bit of gold in the Spring and Summer. These are also recommended around the Birch to the far right corner of your guest house.

We recommend Compact Japanese Hollies or small boxwoods- Green Velvet boxwood, see previous picturedirectly in front of your porch. These will stay shorter so you will have a view out of the large window. Compact Japanese Holly pictured here. Miscanthus Grass is in your design, there are 3 along the side of your home labeled Misc Grass on the design sketch. There is also one near the corner of where the sidewalk meets the garage courtyard and then three more near the side of your guest house. The green leaves turn tan in the Winter.

Focal Tree options for in front of your porch: This is a mature Tamukeyama Japanese Maple. It grows a bit slowly and stays low to the ground. A Bloodgood Japanese Maple has slightly darker leaves than this.

There are several varieties of Japanese Maples with slight variances with the shape of the leaves and the colors.

They are very valuable trees when mature. The ones we will install will be much smaller with less branches.

<--- This is a mature Crimson King. There is a Crimson Queen that has more green to the foliage, if you prefer, price will be similar to the Crimson King.

This is a mature Emperor One Japanese Maple. ------------------->

Other Options for in front of the porch include:

Kwanzan Cherry Tree, this one is also mature in the picture.

This is a Snow Fountain Weeping Cherry, there is also a Pink Snow Shower variety that has pink blooms.

Summer Cascade Weeping Birch. Has peeling bark that is more noticeable when it looses all its leaves in the Winter. No blooms with this birch. All trees suggested for this space are deciduous and offer year round interest while remaining petite for a tree. *

Emerald Green Thuja Arborvitaes are suggested to frame your garage windows with approx. 4 evergreens in between under the windows.

Yews under the garage windows would look great with their round shape. If you dont like those, we could put Compact Japanese Hollies, pictured earlier.

On either side of the guest house door, we suggested sky pencil hollies to frame the entrance. We also have Lynwood Gold Forsythias on either side under the window. They turn bright yellow in the Spring and then are green until they loose their leaves in the Winter. They are very twiggy, growing outwards, so they will still look interesting in the Winter. Last but not least, this far corner of your guest house could use a Birch tree or a Crape Myrtle with a few surrounding gulf stream nandinas. Miscanthus Grass will lead down to side of the guest house to either more Lynwood Golds or Burning Bushes. Either choice would be great, it is just to your preference. They are both very cost effective shrubs that have a pop of color in their specic season. Birch tree options are the Heritage, River Frost (see picture), or Little King. The River Frost has purple leaves and whiter bark while the Heritage and Little King have white and cinnamon bark with green leaves. The Little King is rounder and a dwarf version of the Heritage and it is hard to tell the difference between the Little King and Heritage. The Heritage is used more often in landscaping because it grows taller instead of outwards.

This is a Heritage Birch. I have you priced for a birch that is about 6 feet tall, which is on sale right now for $43, but we can certainly install a larger one. An 8-10 ft one is around $115.
