The AOD 1 system is an oxidative pressure decomposition system based on bomb
decomposition according to DIN 51577. The method has been significantly refined
through the use of special, high-grade alloys of stainless steel compounds in
combination with auto-regenerating catalysts. This combination forms the underlying
guarantee for the quantitative decomposition.
In the broad areas of routine analysis, for example in the waste industry or in
production and quality control in the area of refining procedures, AOD
decomposition has already demonstrated excellent rates of recovery.
Often the research and analysis required for this can only be managed with a
considerable investment of time and money. Very often as well, there is a need for a
simple, economical and effective decomposition system for use in preparing
samples for analysis.
In comparison to the traditional procedure, the AOD 1 system offers a drastic
reduction in the use of consumable materials along with a reduction in the potential
for danger.
Practical accessories such as fixed combustible ignition wire and the C 14
disposable crucible simplify handling enormously in terms of sample preparation.
This is supplemented by special IKA control standards that are well suited for
monitoring the decomposition system and for verifying the detection periphery for
aqueous decomposition.
The system is ideally suited for decomposition of solid and liquid samples for further
determination of all halogens as well as for sulfur. Additional parameters such as
mercury and arsenic are also covered.
The AOD System corresponding DIN 51 727 testing of solid fuels determination of
chlorine content.
With a decomposition time of < 3 minutes accompanying substances of the sample
such as water, solids or other interfering substances have no effect on the complete de-
composition.
