The College of Saint Rose School of Education MASTERS IN TEACHER EDUCATION 30 Credits The Master of Science in Education for provisionally certified elementary and secondary school teachers requires a minimum of 30 credits of study including the following: 1. 6 to 9* credits of Educational Research Date Completed EPY 500 Educational Research (F, Sp, Sm) must be taken in first 12 credits EDU 590 Research Seminar (F, Sp, Sm) (must be taken as last or concurrent with last course) And EDU 999 Comprehensive Examination: Teacher Education (F, Sp, Sm) Or EDU 599 Thesis *Thesis may be taken for three or six credits, but students who wish to stay within the 30-credit minimum Grade Credits 3

These electives may be chosen to create a focus in a particular area of interest such as teaching and learning (e.g., early childhood education, technology) educational foundations (e.g., the philosophical, historical, sociological and psychological foundations of education), or the academic disciplines (English, History and Political Science). * If candidates have not taken course work in educational technology or had significant experience with educational technology, one elective must be chosen from TED courses.
