Pharmacy Exam Review Course is designed to

1. Prepare U.S.-educated students to be successful on the NAPLEX and 2. Prepare foreign-educated pharmacists to successfully pass the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Exam (FPGEE), and the NAPLEX exam. Audience: The program is open to all individuals preparing to take the FPGEE or the NAPLEX exam. Location: Midwestern University 555 31st Steet Downers Grove, IL 60515 FPGEE students attend the entire 4-day class. NAPLEX students attend the class only on Thursday and Friday. NAPLEX and FPGEE are federally registered trademarks owned by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). This review course is in no way authorized or sponsored by the NABP. Objectives: Discuss the economic, social, and administrative influences on drug development and delivery of healthcare (FPGEE). Review key concepts in the basic sciences, including concepts in biology, microbiology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry (FPGEE). Discuss principles of pharmaceutical sciences, including drug absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion, bioequivalence, and dosage formulation design (FPGEE). Demonstrate application of pharmaceutical calculations, pharmacokinetics, and basic statistics (FPGEE and NAPLEX). Understand the pathophysiology of and identify presenting signs and symptoms of common diseases, recommend appropriate drug therapy, identify goals of treatment and monitoring parameters, and summarize key patient counseling issues (FPGEE and NAPLEX).
