1 skein Dream in Color Classy with Cashmere 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Cashmere, and 10% Nylon, 210 yds 4 oz skein shown in Aquajet US 6 (4 mm) dpn needles Tapestry needle Stitch markers

INSTRUCTIONS
Using yarn held doubled cast on 24 (26, 30) sts. Using 3 dp needles divide sts on each needle as follows: 8 ({9,8,9}, 10) sts. Work 5 rounds in k1, p1 rib. Then change to one strand of yarn and work 15 rounds of k1, p1 rib. INSTEP (Top of Foot) Next round: k8 (9, 10) sts, k the next 8 (8,10) sts, turn work and slipping first st k the next 7 (7, 9) sts. Work back and forth in garter stitch on these 8 (8, 10) sts, always slipping first st, for 14 (16, 20) more rows.

5 sts and 8 rows per inch in st st

SIDES AND BOTTOM With new needle pick up and knit 7 (9, 10) sts across the side of the of the garter stitch instep flap being careful to pick up between garter ridges catching two strands. On last pickup stitch go into the stitch below the stitch on your next needle so as to avoid a hole. Knit the next 8 (9, 10) sts onto the same needle. You will now have 15 (18, 20) sts on the needle. With new needle knit the next 8 (9, 10) sts and then with the same needle pick up 7 (9, 10) sts along other side of garter stitch instep flap in same fashion. Knit 4 (4, 5) sts place marker for center of toe, knit last 4 (4, 5) sts. You will now have 15 (18, 20) sts each on two needles and 8 (8, 10) sts on last needle. Knit next round and redivide your stitches as follows: 12 (14, 16) sts across toe needle place marker in center of these stitches, 13 (15, 17) stitches on other two needles. Center heel will be between these two needles. Center of heel now marks beginning of round. Knit 3 (5, 6) more rounds. DECREASE Begin decreasing as follows: Decrease round: Knit 1, ssk, k to within 3 sts of center toe marker, k2 tog, k1, slip marker, k1, ssk, knit to within 3 sts of center heel, k2 tog, k1. Knit one round. Decrease round: work as above. Knit one round. Decrease round: work as above.

FINISHING
Divide stitches by placing the toe needle stitches on each of the other two needles evenly. Kitchener stitch these stitches for the bottom of the bootie and weave in all ends.
