Introduction

The objective of this 36 (Thirty six) credit hour Master of Engineering (M.Engg.) in Telecommunications program is to prepare students for professional careers in Engineering in the specialization of Telecommunications and to train them to become competent and efficient engineers in Telecommunications. The curriculum has been designed in close alignment with similar programs of the American, Canadian and Australian Universities. The graduates will be able to plan, analyze, design, implement, operate, test, maintain and manage the Telecommunications systems and business. The program is highly recommended for students who wish to obtain technical as well as Engineering management positions in the Telecommunications industry.

Degree Requirements
The program M.Engg. in Telecommunications curriculum consists of a minimum of 36 credit hours including 6 Core courses. The breakdown of credits is as follows 6 courses from the Core courses: 18 credits 4 courses from the Elective courses: 12 credits Thesis:: 6 credits Students may also complete the degree by taking 12 courses which includes 6 Core courses and 6 Elective courses. Students may also take a 3 credits Project instead of taking a sixth Elective course. The candidate must achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.75 on 4.0 scale to get the degree.

Admission Requirements
Those who have completed a 4-year B.S. program in EEE, COE, ECE, ETE, Computer Science, CSE, CIS, Software Engg., CSSE, Applied Physics & Electronics, ICT, ICE, APEE, APECE or in any other technical discipline (to be decided by the Program Head) with at least 2.75 CGPA or its equivalent are eligible for admission in the M.Engg. in Telecommunication program. Acceptable score in the AIUB administered admission test. Two letters of recommendations. Completed application form.

Thesis/Project
Upon completion of 18 credits, a student is eligible to submit the Thesis proposal. The proposal may include tentative title, background and present state of the problem, objectives with specific aims and possible outcome, outline of methodology/experimental design, industrial applications, relevant references of journals and publications, list of courses so far taken with course no., name of the course, credit hour, grade, grade point and GPA etc. Students will register for the Thesis/Project when 27 credits will be completed.

Research Activities
More than 20 experienced faculty members are engaged in a number of different research groups. Various National/International collaborative researches are also being carried out with renowned researchers in USA, Europe, Canada, UK, Australia and Japan. Digital Library access. Different Journal access like IEEE, Springer etc. Different Laboratory facilities like Telecommunications Laboratory, Wireless Communications Laboratory, Microwave Engineering Laboratory, Digital Signal Processing Laboratory, VLSI Laboratory, Digital Electronic Laboratory etc.
