AndrewDeCheck
Andrew DeCheck is a senior petroleum engineering major from Racine, Wisconsin. He has been
involved with the Society of Petroleum Engineers and Tau Beta Pi. Most recently he has focused on educating
younger students about the oil and gas industry. An experiment of his illustrating the concept of seismology
was recently published and he will be touring multiple high schools and middle schools in the College Station
area to both educate students and get them excited about potential careers in the petroleum industry.
Andrew is in the process of forming a non-profit corporation centered around the goal of mass
education about the oil and gas industry. It is very common to see negative media portrayals of the industry.
This is partially the fault of major oil companies for not paying enough attention to everyday people. For
example, few people outside the industry actually know what fracking is, but there are plenty of people who
will tell you that it is bad. Mass education, starting with young students, is the only way to combat this
misinformation and lead us into a much more energy-conscious future.
Following graduation in May, 2014, Andrew will work as a petroleum engineer. After five years, he
will go back to school to earn his MBA. This will allow him to either venture into management or polish his
entrepreneurial abilities to start another company.

HerilalaFanomezantsoa
Herilala Fanomezantsoa is a graduate student at the Bush School of Government and Public Service
who is working on his Masters degree in Public Administration and Certificate in Advanced International
Affairs. He hails from Madagascar, where he led a local-based association devoted to protecting the unique
environmental assets of the country. Since his arrival at Texas A&M in August 2013, he serves as the
international student representative at the Public Service Organization (PSO). Within that organization, he has
had opportunities to volunteer for different events and activities at the school and the George Bush Presidential
Library such as hosting speakers, giving tours of the Bush Complex to guests, and organizing Replant Day. He
is also participating in the Bush Schools Deans Leadership Program to devise a ambitious personal plan to be
achieved within two years.
Fanomezantsoa has already worked for a consulting office. He contributed to a wide range of projects
for social, financial, and legal assessment feasibilities to inform governmental agencies and foreign companies.
From that experience, he gained valuable experience in state regulation. Working in a team of consultants from
different backgrounds, he also developed a keen sense of collaborative work and adaptability.
Since his country is underrepresented in the high sphere of international institutions, Fanomezantsoa
plans to change that situation in favor of his fellow citizens. Accordingly, in the next five to ten years, he sees
himself working for an international organization with a strong leadership position. This way he can admirably
represent, around the world, the image of his country.

shadowing opportunities with two civil engineering vice presidents in the Houston area provided him with
insight regarding project management and business strategy in an engineering context.
Following graduation, Peter plans to work as a consultant for one of the larger strategy consulting
firms. After completing several years of consulting work, Peter plans to apply to business school to earn an
MBA before either returning to the consulting world or entering industry-specific work.

AtanasioFernandezSanchez
Atanasio Fernandez Sanchez is senior Political Science and Philosophy double major. Atanasio has
been involved in several student organizations during his time at Texas A&M including leadership
development organizations like MSC LEAD, MSC Spencer Leadership Conference, MSC Abbott Family
Leadership Conference, and the National Hispanic Institute. He has also been involved in several service
organizations, such as Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, Student Governments Parent Weekend
Committee, the Texas A&M Foundations Aggies Giving Selflessly, and even serves as a volunteer at the
Student Counseling Helpline within Texas A&Ms Student Counseling Services. Atanasio has been
thoroughly involved within the Memorial Student Centers resource areas, now serving as Vice President of
Services and Facilities.
Atanasio has been exposed to the legal system through many avenues. Working in the El Paso County
Court at Law #4 allowed him to form a deeper understanding of the work that comes along with litigation.
Moreover, Atanasio has firsthand experience with the immigrant system having come over to the United States
from Mexico when he was a few months old. He is aware of the intricacies that come with administrative law,
and thus has gotten an overall grasp of in-court proceedings and transactional work.
While these are areas of law he admits he would be interested in practicing, he also looks forward to
immersing himself in the myriad of classes law school has to offer. He knows that a J D opens the door to a
versatile profession that can give one many different opportunities. Atanasio plans on working a full year in a
legal setting before beginning law school in order to better prepare himself and make him a more competitive
applicant when looking for a job after law school.

SamanthaSiegler
Samantha Siegler is a junior Finance major and Economics minor from Houston, Texas. During her
freshman year at Texas A&M, Samanthas goals were to establish a strong academic foundation and learn
how to manage her time. Achieving those goals enabled her to figure out how many organizations and
activities she could handle the following year. Since her sophomore year, Samantha has been involved in the
Texas A&M Pre-Law Society, Aggie Investment Club, the Phi Eta Sigma Chapter of the National Honors
Society, Honors Fellows, and National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Currently a junior, Samantha is now an
executive officer of the Pre-Law Society, a selected participant of the Mays Business Fellows Program, and
law director of the MSC Stark Northeast Trip of 2014.
Samantha has wanted to pursue a J D since she first witnessed her moms performance in the
courtroom. Her interest in business began during her senior year of high school, when she interned for an
energy hedge fund in Houston, called The Irish Exchange. This internship showed her a unique side of the
business world and stimulated a curiosity in finance. That summer, Samanthas fascination in business grew
considerably throughout her second internship as development associate at The Holocaust Museum Houston,
a non-profit organization. These two experiences encouraged her to strive for a BBA in Finance.
Her success in Mays Business School has thus far led Samantha to her third internship at Quanta
Services, an S&P 500 Company, which will take place this summer. Despite her newly-found interest in
business, Samantha is still exceedingly drawn towards law school, and jumps at virtually every pre-law
opportunity presented. Samantha has two options following graduation from Texas A&M University. The
first is to go straight into law school, work for Quanta Services in Houston for a couple years and then pursue
an MBA. The second is to first work at Quanta Services for a few years and then earn a joint J D/MBA.

Bradford Stricklin is a junior Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Electrical Engineering
from Houston, Texas. Bradford has served as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the
Residence Hall Association, where he facilitated networking between the 8,100+on-campus students. He also
currently holds the position of Vice President of Development for the Memorial Student Center, in which he is
responsible for growing relationships with the MSCs benefactors and for helping to fundraise for the sixteen
MSC committees.
Bradford has had the opportunity to experience the business world from multiple facets and in varying
capacities. During his freshman year of high school he started his own tutoring business
(ValedictorianTutors.com) which he cultivated and expanded until his second year of college. He was also one
of five students and fifteen people on Texas A&Ms Dining Privatization Committee that were charged with
deciding on a $100 million privatization agreement. Additionally, Bradford has interned with Bray
International where he worked on an assortment of projects that connected engineering and business aspects of
the company.
As a mechanical engineering major, Bradford intends to continue on the engineering track for the next
several years before pursuing his Master of Business Administration. Bradford will receive his masters degree
in either mechanical engineering or materials science after his fifth year of college due to the fact that he is in
the fast-track program. He then intends to either pursue a second graduate degree related to materials science
at a different university or go to work for a couple of years. After he has served his time in industry, he will
then go on to earn an MBA from a world-class institution. His goal is to start his own engineering firm and he
knows having the MBA would be a great asset towards achieving this goal. His ideal firm would specialize in
a specific area of research (possibly the same area as his graduate studies) and its utilization in the real world.
