Teacher will explain and discuss the topic planet earth, day and night on page no. 48 and following main concepts will be taught. Teacher will explain that our earth is a sphere and it is rotating or spinning round like a top on its axis. Teacher will explain that an axis is a straight line about which a body or geometric object rotates or may be conceived to rotate. Teacher will discuss North Pole, South Pole and equator of the earth. Teacher will explain that the part of earth facing the sun has day and the other part have the night. Teacher will explain that as the earth turns the part where day is gradually turns away and goes into dark shadows that we call night. Teacher will explain that earth takes twenty four hours to completely rotate on its axis. Teacher will explain that earth is slightly tilted that is why not all places have exactly twelve hours day and twelve hours night.
