Sensors for Everyday Use

Nellcor OxiMax sensors from Covidien feature cutting-edge OxiMax technology, which helps you manage patients in the challenging, lowersaturation range. This technology gives you access to: A LoSat expanded accuracy specification range of 60% to 80% SpO22 for improved accuracy during low perfusion and vasoconstriction in the extremities1 Tear-resistant adhesive sensors that feature our innovative second-skin fit, which provides a comfortable, secure fit for patients while preventing ambient light from interfering with SpO2 readings1 Sterile sensors to protect your patients and staff from cross-contamination

Calibration in the Sensors

Calibration coefficients are used to account for the differences in sensor types. Different sites on the body, different materials, different LEDsall require different calibration. These calibration coefficients are typically stored in the monitor, making it necessary to upgrade or adjust the monitor with every new sensor type. But we program our coefficients into our sensors, making our sensors instantly compatible with all the monitors on the OxiMax pulse oximetry platform. SpecIALty SensoRs tHAt Meet SpecIAL PAtIent NeeDs When patient conditions and anatomies demand more than reusable sensors or a standard digit sensor, we offer our Nellcor OxiMax specialty sensors, which safely obtain accurate readings from patients with poor perfusion, low perfusion or sensitive skin1. These specialty sensors use a combination of form, function and cutting-edge technology to overcome these barriers. They can also overcome the clinical need for rapid readings that more closely correlate with realtime SpO2-relevant levels.3, 4, 5

What Is the LoSat Expanded Accuracy Feature? All OxiMax adhesive sensors, including Max-Fast forehead sensors, feature Covidiens Nellcor LoSat expanded accuracy range of 60% to 100% SpO21 for assessment of patients in the challenging low-saturation ranges, such as infants with congenital heart disease.6

Nellcor SoftCare nonadhesive sensor

For Your Patients with Fragile Skin

Applying and removing adhesive sensors can damage the delicate epidermal tissue of certain patients with sensitive skin, including neonates, geriatric, and burn patients.7 Our SoftCare nonadhesive sensors are ideal for monitoring these patients, featuring: Soft, pliable, low-profile foam material construction Velcro* fasteners to safely and securely fasten sensors to your most delicate patients High-efficiency LED, effective at acquiring a pulsatile signal, even with patients who have thicker or darkly pigmented skin or have weak pulses1

Forehead Versus Fingers Obtaining accurate SpO2 readings can be a challenge in certain conditions.. Digit sensors are typically effective, but in some circumstances, fingers can be prone to vasoconstriction or low peripheral perfusion.8 In cases like this, OxiMax Max-Fast forehead sensors can help you maintain a consistent, reliable reading.1
