Very well then, let me give you a general introductory lesson here on habits Im sure you know that good habits need to be cultivated while bad habits seem to grow like weeds. Habits like self-discipline, self-control, order, and perseverance, are all habits that require a conscious effort to create and maintain. Procrastination on the other hand, is a behavior takes no effort at all. For better or worse, its your habits that make or break you. I want to repeat that again For better or worse, its your habits that make or break you. BAD habits prevent you from reaching your potential. They are self-inflicted punishments that drain you of motivation, time, and money. And they hold you back from living the great life you know you can achieve. Bad habits chip away at the life you COULD be living, right now. They stifle your potential to make the money you deservack from enjoying rewarding personal relationships And they prevent you from looking and feeling GREAT!

Success, like anything else, must be learned and practiced. A habit starts out as no more than a thought. When this thought is pursued it turns into action. If repeated often enough this action will impress itself on the subconscious mind and form a habit. Once a habit is formed it becomes automatic and no longer requires the attention of your conscious mind. Take a close look at your routines. Routines are what form your habits. Examine what is working for you and what is not. Just as with a garden cultivating good habits will also take time and attention. You need to nurture the flowers in your life and start pulling the weeds. If something is not working for you, get rid of it! If you wish to be successful in anything you do, follow the clues. Study the habits of successful people. It is the habits we create that make us who we are. One habit all successful people have in common is the ability to focus their attention for extended periods of time, which one of the skills that youll master by the end of this ecourse. Acknowledge the small things. Recognize and acknowledge each little success as it comes along. As one success leads to another they add up and you gain confidence in you ability to reach even larger goals. Everything is learned by degree. Start small and practice daily creating positive habits. As you success more, one small success leads to another until success becomes a habit. Building up positive habits is essential as we mentioned, on the other hand, its even more important that you break addictive bad habits. Now, lets forget about the defeatism; its just an excuse people find for their lack of determination. Youre stronger than that. Yes, controlling habits is not easy, but here are a few tips to get you moving in the right direction Avoid the Danger Zones: Most bad habits are associated with places, people, or circumstances which encourage you to indulge in something you know you shouldnt. If you make a point of avoiding these danger zones, you may find that the habit will disappear of its own accord. Motivate Yourself Properly: Exercise your willpower, just as you would any muscle of your body. Flex it whenever temptation encroaches, and surprise yourself with your strength of will. If you need help strengthening your motivation, theres nothing wrong with seeking assistance with a professional, or even a trusted friend.

Discover the Alternatives: Give some thought to the fact that if youre addicted to one bad habit, you may be missing out on a lot of other pleasures. Seek out something new, and give it a try instead of the object of your addiction. If youre headed for the bar again, think a moment about a coffee shop, or a movie theater, or even a nice run, for a natural high. Slam on the Brakes: When a bad habit rears its ugly head again, and tries to take control, throw a wrench in the works. Take a time-out, and reevaluate. Do anything it takes to delay, and distract yourself. Break those habits of thought. Later, Ill train you to program your sub-conscious mind to break those bad habits, and replace them for good. Why sub-conscious mind things? Because Bad habits are impulses so instead of controlling them, you often end up repeating them! The Danger of Limiting Beliefs: The Elephants Story: Recently, I was reading my own copy of the banabu manual by Mike Kemski. I was enjoying my reading in the manual till this story shocked me If you have ever been to the Circus youve seen these amazing animals that are enormous and powerful. But they are all so tame and well trained. Especially amazing are the elephants. These animals are HUGE! But they comply with every direction the circus trainers give them. I took my daughter to the circus and she wanted to ride the elephants. I said sure and tossed her up onto the elephants back. These are enormous creatures. I remember not even thinking for a second there was any danger because these animals are so obedient. It is very interesting to learn how they train these giant animals. They start when they are just little babies. They tie big heavy rope around one of their hind legs and attach it to a sturdy post. Well naturally the baby elephant wants nothing to do with being tied up so he pulls and tugs and yanks at that rope until he is exhausted. Then when he regains some energy and strength he does the same routine all over again. Tugging and pulling and yanking on that rope but to no avail. Over time the baby elephant gets discouraged and stops pulling so hard. He looses some of his fight and thats when the trainers put a smaller rope on him.

The baby elephant still tugs and pulls and yanks at this smaller rope but with less force because he is already getting conditioned to believe he cannot break the rope and he finds the outcome the same. This goes on for some time until finally there is just a small string around one of this mighty animals hind legs making him comply with whatever the trainer demands. The elephant could easily break this string but he believes that it is no use. He knows with everything that he is that he cannot break free from this string that binds him. His mind has been conditioned to believe that he is powerless and there is no use even trying. The next part of this story is what really demonstrates the incredible power of beliefs, perceptions and habits. One day at a circus event the elephants were all lined up and tied to something that resembles a portable bike rack, something that any human being could pick up and carry with them. The elephants were tied to this rack awaiting their performance when a fire broke out. The tent was burning and everyone frantically evacuated the tent and found safety, except for the elephants. In the story about this they say you could hear the elephants screaming as they burned to death. They did not even try to escape. They were bound only by a small string and a portable rack that any human could carry with them. Their beliefs were so strong that they could not escape that even in the event that their lives depended on them trying to get out, they made no attempt to escape! That is how powerful a belief can be. Those beliefs certainly did not serve the elephants and you need to ask yourself, do your beliefs serve you? Do you have limiting belief systems? Do your habits create and support serving beliefs? Its really crucial. Its that important. Pay more attention to your thoughts, beliefs & habits. Get rid of the ones that will let you down when you need to be strong!

Believe it or not, most people go through their lives with targets half-selected or with no targets at all. What do you think they are going to achieve? NOTHING. In order to get what you want, you must have a clear vision of exactly what its that you want. If you think you dont know what you wantor cant figure it out Then be careful, someone might misguide you, use you, or simply you waste your life and regret it later. Look around you, most people spend life confused wondering aimlessly, never knowing exactly what they want. I dont blame them, but I dont want you to be one of them! The worlds lifestyle and what you see or hear in your day all aim to manipulate your desire and emotions to sell you some ideas. Some people do it consciously, some do it unconsciouslyBut a lot of people do it anyway. Sometimes, we actually have a target in mind, but we dont see it clearly. A classic example: I want a new car. If thats your goal, you may end up with Toyota Yaris as a BMW-X6. Chances are, youd be much more likely to get the Toyota Yaris, because you see more of it out there than the other nice car you want. **************************************************** Now, lets go practical and give you a simple technique that solves the problem & help you identify your true goals very clearly. **************************************************** Ready? OK I want you to complete the following: Q. What would you do if there were no way you could fail? If youre genius, more intelligent than anyone else in the whole world? List up to 3 things you want to: have, do, and be in the next 6 months. Complete these: - If I was, I would be happy and consider myself a success. - If I had, I would be happy and consider myself a success. - If I was doing, I would be happy and consider myself a success.

If you find it hard to identify what you want in one (or all) of the above, as most will, identify what you do NOT want, hate or fear and write down the opposite. Points to consider: + dont limit yourself (remember that Elephant?) + dont worry about your current abilities. + dont be realistic, nor crazy! Just stretch a bit + dont fool yourself, be honest. + dont be shy, nobody is gonna see your writing. + write anything will makes you feel good. Side Note: Try to challenge yourself, be ambitious. But watch for the gap between your current place, and your desired place. If its tooooooo wide, youre going to fall flat on your face! Frustration will invade you, too. Just watch the gap :o) Example: Im earning $3000/m, a good goal would be: A: Earning $100K/m in 3 months. Im in debt. B: Earning $15K/m in 6 months. Im not in debt. Which goal would you shoot? Definitely it is B. Other goal-setting tips: * Can you feel how good it is to achieve it? * Do you have a burning desire to have it? * Does that goal excite you? * Would you wake up early in the morning for it? If you answered NO to any of the above questions you probably didnt pick the *right* goal for you. Think again, and do the exercises. Thats it for today. Remember the previous lesson in this e-course? We have done a good job on formulating a strategy to discover your desires, and if you followed the exercises, youre now having a list of 3 goals. Today were gonna plan to achieve them! But first let me clarify 2 points Point #1: Sometimes we consciously or incounsciously trick ourselves into thinking that the actions were taking are getting us closer towards our target, when in reality were just getting in busyness mood. Sometimes we spend days working but never really accomplishing anything in particular. You might tell yourself that youre working but whatre really doing is watching funny videos on YouTube.com that a friend shared with you, or catching some chat with a pal on instant messaging programs like Yahoo!, MSN, Gtalk, or Skype. Most of the time, we, ourselves put extra obstacles & distractions to our progress. The thing is, youre always walking some path toward or away from your target. EVERY action you do will get you closer or away. So, watch for this. Point #2:

Success is a process, a progress, a journey. Its not something that HAPPENS to you. Its something you go through. So, take one step at a time and celebrate your progress toward success. OK back to our main idea How to Hit Your Goal? ***************************************************** To write your plan, were going to use one of the most powerful yet simple planning techniques, its called: The Backward Planning Method. Its easy & effective. Here is how it works You start with a clear image of your target in mind and then you ask yourself, Just before I achieved this target, what is the latest thing I did? Now, use your visualization to live that moment. Imagine what is that you did right before reaching your target? - Write it down. And then keep going backwards and writing the actions you took until you come to where you are sitting right now. Remember to capture each action by writing it down on a paper. Once youre done, congratulate yourself, because almost a perfect action plan is between your hands now! All you got to do is to reverse the steps and put them in the proper order, put a deadline for each action step for accomplishment, and youre ready to go. But, what if you know what to do, but do not know how to do it? Here are 3 ways to get you on the fast track 1. First, write down 3 no-brainer actions Sometimes common sense is your best mentor. I want you to write down 3 obvious steps you can take within 48 hrs that get you closer to your target. It might be a phone call, a visitation, a meeting, buying somethingit really doesnt matter. What does matter is that you decide & actually start.

Why this comes before doing research for information. Because I dont want you to get stuck in thinking traps. You start reading, buying home-study course, lose some money & time, write 10s of plans & ideas, arguing with others on which is which, analyzing and becoming a crazy, theoretical, talkative expert! There is time for good education in step 2 2. Ask someone who has done it successfully before: Now, do some research to find that successful person. You might have someone already in your headgood for a start. Try to reach him, do some phone calls, network with others, but before you get to him, make sure you have written smart questions to get the most out of this chance. I know some successful persons who listen for 3-5 minutes, if they found your questions smart enough and reflect serious person, they tend to spend even more than the scheduled time to help you. Its good too to follow one mentor. Dont distract yourself between experts arguments. Find reliable one, and follow him. If he sells books, how-to guides, then get them and schedule weekly reading time. The internet now is full of complete home-study courses that makes you almost an expert in any topic you can dream of. This challenge is solved. You might make it a problem by spending lots of time analyzing, and get trapped in information overload. Dont do that. 3. Hire an Advisor or Personal Mentor: If you could find a good mentor who does one-on-one consultation and mentoring, you have find yourself the best solution. What is that single essential skill you extremely need in order to succeed? FOCUS. A major key to succeed in anything you do is to focus. But are you sure you know exactly what focus is? According to (www.wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn), Focus is the concentration of attention or energy on something. You need to concentrate enough attention & energy on your target in order to hit it. If you worked toward your goal without *proper* focus you will likely end up nowhere. Notice that I said proper focus. Most people either: * Focus on the wrong thing; or * Does not focus enough. In order to hit a target, you must focus sufficient attention AND energy on it, until you hit it. The problem is, after weve selected our target, most of the time we dont focus ALL of our energy & attention on it We get distracted.

Or, if you got another target in mind at the same time, youve taken some of your focus away from the original target. Most people jump around from target to target never paying enough focus to it. Throughout our lives, we focus on things other than our desired targets - this is one of the main reasons why we fail * TV * Video games * Movies * Getting busy * Meetings * Parties * Mindless entertainment Those are no exceptions, distractions. As usual, we are going to move now to the practical tips part. Focusing is a million-dollar skill, period. ***************************************************** So, How to Focus Your Attention & Energy on a Target? ***************************************************** In the following, Ill give you general tips on this skill. In the coming lessons, Ill tell you more on how to become focused & productive in your normal daily activities. 1. Learn to say NO. I found that this one is hard to do, but extremely effective and empowers you. Anyone, anything tries to distract you, say NO. 2. Practice visualization & affirmation everyday. Thats going to keep your focus on your goal. When? It can be before you sleep, or early in the morning. 3. Write your to-do list everyday. Again, the early morning or before you sleep is good timing. Look at your list of tasks. ANY task that doesnt get you closer to your targets should be: (a) Deleted, (b) delegated, (d) delayed, or if it is something you MUST do, then, do it. Another thing is to avoid stress. Dont multi-task or overwhelming yourself. Work will always be more than your time.

There is only one *PROBLEM* with motivation, it short lives! Motivation does NOT last enough! As the title tells, motivation provides you with the power you need to keep working even in the hard times. I will share with you some of my favorite motivation buttons that brings you motivation on demand 1. Focus on the why. Always, always, always, focus on why youre willing do whatever it takes to pursue your goal. WHY?! I recommend you do this: - In you computer, open your favorite word processor software and type your primary, most important goal for you to accomplish in the next 6 months. Make it in big, bold font and center it. - Just below your goal, type this: I, (enter your name) am willing to do whatever it takes to achieve this goal because of:. And then, start bullet-points with your own reasons. Write. Dont delay it. Mix it with your emotions to work best.

- Print it and hang it somewhere you can see regularly. Your desk, mirror, save it as image file and set it as your computers desktop wallpaper. Your WHY will push you for sure. 2. Enjoy the journey on the way to the destination. This one I actually learned from my personal mentor among hundreds of other things (see, I have a personal mentor who tells me how to achieve my goals. You better get one!). My personal mentor, Jimmy d. Brown says: You should never be so focused on the destination that you fail to enjoy the journey. Enjoy life TODAY. Dont wait in expectation of what life will be like when you get there. Live it at its best right now where you are, not where you will one day be. Much of what youre probably working for can be done now. Dont wait until later to start living. Do the things you enjoy every single day. Dont let success or a lack of it play any role at all in your quality of life. Think about that for a moment. I encourage you to spend some time today making a short list of things you enjoy doing in your life, and then make time each week to do what you love. * What do you enjoy doing? * What makes you happy? * When are you most content? * If you were making as much money as youd like, what would you do with your time? I think youll find that much of what youd ultimately do can be done right now. Contentment and enjoyment and fulfillment arent nearly as elusive as we make them out to be. By enjoying life in the here and now, youll take a lot of pressure off of yourself which is ultimately a significant catalyst for achievement. Youll also avoid some detrimental barriers to success like impatience and dissatisfaction both of which are usually forerunners to failure. 3. Believe in yourself Do you still remember that poor loser Elephant I told you about in lesson 2?

If you didnt fully believed deeply that you can, and will reach your goal, you chose not to reach them. Its your choice. 4. Reward yourself for a job well done. Anytime you make small progress toward achieving your goal, give yourself something as a reward. You desreve it . Make a Reward List. It can contain things that please you. Maybe a trip, a dinner with supportive friend, a giftyes buy yourself a gift! Get creative, give yourself something. Again, you deserve it. 5. Action brings strong motivation. Believe me my friend. After getting familiar with success, you become addictive to achieve more. Fortunately, it become easier and you become stronger even more. Learn to take action. Become a can-doer. Get things done, it is a habit, once you develop it, it grows on its own. I know some successful friends, they dont believe in NLP, law of attraction or subconscious mind programming and these techniques. They follow the old, original, and proved success school - Get a vision, and then develop; - Self discipline - Determination - Self-control - and Momentum And pal, its the best success school! 6. Create a burning desire. Strong desires make the impossible possible. Melt the end results with a STRONG emotional state. Try to feel it. Feel how good it is once you achieve your goal. Try to act as if you have already accomplished that goal, do positive affirmation exercises, create mental images of you succeeding etc. I will teach you more on these tactics that keep you aligned with your target, very soon.

Better than short-injections of motivation, much better. It can be learned and practiced. In order to go on the attack, and pursue your dreams actively, you need to develop will power. Strong will power can allow you to impose your control on many things, both around you and within you. You can remold your character, teaching yourself self-control, and stamping out those bad habits that are holding you back in life. At the same time, you can exert control on the circumstances around you, both situations and other people. People who have developed strong wills are often irresistible; their charisma and leadership qualities inspire those around them. As a result, their will often becomes reality. So, how to have more self-discipline? Will power is much like any part of your physical body. If you use it consistently, and flex it, it will grow in size and strength, and even surprise you. If you dont use it, it will atrophy, wither, and all but disappear. When exercising, no one grabs the heaviest weights first, when theyre just starting out, or runs a marathon the same day they buy their first pair of running shoes. With will power, start out small. Resist Comparing Yourself to Others Its very dangerous to compare yourself to others, because one person can never be like another person. You are unique. If you start to compare yourself to others, you will never be happy or feel good about yourself. You need to realize your uniqueness and your special talents to begin to have self-worth. Never Put Yourself Down People with low self-esteem tend to put themselves down a lot. They never feel like they are doing the right thing, or are accomplishing things. Once again, no one is perfect. Therefore, everyone will make mistakes. The important thing is that you have done your best at whatever you are trying to accomplish. Surround Yourself with Positive People People who are positive about life can be a great influence on others to think the same way. People who are negative most or all of the time do not make others feel good about things. Positive people do not only bring sunshine where there is rain, but are also in a position to make you feel good about yourself. Remember all of the Positive Things You Do If you are a good person to others, dedicated to your work and home and other around you, you should feel good about your self and realize your self-esteem. You dont have to be a great scientist or make a lot of money to make an impact in life and on people. So, think about all of the positive, helpful things you have done, and give yourself a pat on the back. Enjoy Time with Friends and Take Part in Outside Activities The more you socialize with good friends, and take time out to enjoy different types of activities, the better you will feel overall. A nice dinner with friends during which you

share fun memories and camaraderie goes a long way to helping you feel good. Engaging in physical activities, such as sports, or even just going to a play or a movie, also keeps your mind active and free of negative thoughts. SECRET #3: Become Energized Person There is a saying that states: the highest energy wins. By raising your energy you positivily affect your brain chemistry. People love energized persons, I personally have never met a successful guy without noticing how energized he is. Getting more energy will give you extra success potential, period. Here is my personal rule; eat whatever you want, but: (a) chew at leat 20 times before sowllowing (b) never ever fill your stomach. I dont care how good is that meal, always stop eating while you feel that you still wanna eat. This will boost your self-discipline and esteem too. 3. Move. Do some exercises. Go for a daily walk/run, better to be under sun light. Hint on food: try to add to each meal some vegetables. As long as your meal contains lots of water (%60-%80) you are fine.
