What:Rice paddies carved in the mountains. This is a sustainable agriculture. Where:Mountains of Ifugao Problem: Urbanization endangers this way of life. Perspective: Similar situation in Japan.

What: Masskara festival aimed to lift the spirits Where:Balacod City Perspective:The name is influenced by U.S. and Spain. Mass is English. Kara is Spanish.

What: Tuna Festival celebrates the plentiful Tuna.The warm water allow for a high tuna population. Where:General Santos City Perspective:Tuna is threatened by overfishing and pollution in the ocean. This could threaten this festival if there is no tuna to celebrate.

Bad relations over territories have hurt the Philippines relationship with China but it has brought Japan ,the U.S. and the Philippines closer together

In the past there were tensions over U.S. military bases in the Philippines. However, once the bases were removed,the relationships improved.
