Procedimiento para actualizacin

Actualizacin de PC a receptor con RS232:

Material necesario:
STB5518 software. PC con puerto serie, COM_1 o COM_2. Sistema operativo Windows 98 o XP. Cable puerto serie NULL MODEM.

Actualizacin del software:

Nota Informativa: Tras la actualizacin del receptor, slo se modificar el Software y NO los datos de la memoria tales como canales de TV/Radio, listado de FAV y Configuracin. Preparar el programa Conectar el cable serie entre el PC y el receptor. Ejecutar STB5518. Seleccionar el puerto de comunicaciones Seleccionar download software (PC>>>STB) del men de opciones. Seleccionar el fichero .BIN a cargar utilizando el botn <Browse>.

Preparar el IRD para la actualizacin del solftware Poner en marcha el receptor. Dejar el receptor en modo Stand by utilizando la tecla de POWER del frontal o el botn del mando a distancia; para el IRD120 utilizar esta ultima opcin

Actualizando receptor Desde el programa STB5518, seleccionar de la barra de botones, START. Si se han seguido los pasos mencionados correctamente, comenzar la actualizacin del receptor. Mientras el receptor se esta actualizando veremos que el frontal muestra una A seguida de una numeracin que va incrementando su valor a lo largo de la actualizacin

ATENCIN!!!! Una vez finalizado el proceso de carga, no toque el receptor mientras aparezca el mensaje Waiting for erasing flash and writing data., ya que esto provocara daos irreversibles en la memoria de este.

Una vez finalizada la escritura en la flash y por tanto actualizado el receptor, en el frontal mostrar End , indicando que la carga del software ha finalizado. A continuacin encendemos el receptor para que el nuevo software sea ledo. Podemos comprobar que el nuevo software ha sido cargado correctamente accediendo al MEN PRINCIPAL SISTEMA ACERCA DE IRD.

ATENCIN!!!! Se recomienda realizar siempre un Reset ( valores por Defecto) una vez finalizada la actualizacin del receptor.

Cmo hacer una Copia de Seguridad de la Base de Datos.

Nota Informativa1: La base de Datos est compuesta por todos aquellos datos que no forman parte del software como lo son: Listado de canales de TV Listado de canales de Radio OSD (idioma y color de los mens) Ajuste de Sistema Control Paterno Instalacin de TP o de MUX. Nota Informativa2: Todos los receptores digitales mostrados en la cabecera de este documento, tienen dos zonas de memoria donde se guardan los Datos. A la primera zona de memoria se le conoce como memoria activa y es la parte de memoria sobre la que interactuamos. Cuando movemos un canal del listado general de canales o lo borramos, estamos moviendo o borrando informacin de la memoria activa. A la segunda zona de memoria se le conoce como memoria pasiva y corresponde a la copia de seguridad que se efecta tras seleccionar la opcin de Men. MEN DE SISTEMA SALVAR Y GUARDAR CONFIG SALVAR PROG&CONFIG. Seguir los mismos pasos que en Actualizacin de PC a Receptor, para conectar el PC y el receptor. Desde el programa STB5518 seleccionar la opcin Upload Data (STBPC) del men de Opciones. Encender el receptor y dejarlo en Stand-By. Desde el programa STB5518, seleccionar de la barra de botones, Start. Mientras se est efectuando el volcado de datos al PC, el frontal del receptor mostrar un F seguida de una numeracin que va incrementando su valor a lo largo de la actualizacin. Una vez finalizado el volcado de datos, asignar un nombre al fichero resultante, con extensin .SDX.

ATENCIN!!!! Slo se guardarn en el fichero resultante aquellos datos que pertenezcan a la memoria activa y no a la memoria pasiva ya que estos ltimos permanecen en el receptor

Actualizar la Base de Datos de PC a Receptor

Para actualizar la Base de Datos utilizando un PC, se seguirn los mismos pasos que para la copia de seguridad: Seleccionar la opcin de men: Download Data (PC STB). Dejar el receptor en Stand-By. Escoger el fichero de datos [con nombre.SDX], seleccionando el botn <Browse>. Seleccionar de la barra de botones, Start.

Una vez finalizada la escritura en la memoria y por tanto actualizada la base de datos del receptor, en el frontal mostrar End indicando que la carga ha finalizado. A continuacin encendemos el receptor para que la nueva base de datos sea leda.

Actualizacin de receptor a receptor

Material necesario:
Un receptor con la ltima versin o la ms reciente. A este receptor lo llamaremos MASTER. Cable serie NULL MODEM. El receptor a actualizar. A este receptor lo llamaremos SLAVE

Unir los dos receptores con el cable serie ( ver detalle) To link the two receivers with the cable series (to see detail)

Encender el receptor MAESTRO mediante el interruptor trasero y dejarlo en Stand-by apretando la tecla POWER. A continuacin encender el receptor ESCLAVO. En este momento el display del MAESTRO indica una H y el receptor ESCLAVO muestra 0000

Actualizando receptor Si se han seguido los pasos correctamente ya se puede actualizar el receptor ESCLAVO. La actualizacin por DATA TRANSFER se hace mediante un cdigo que se enva al receptor utilizando el mando a distancia. Este cdigo puede ser uno de los siguientes: 123 Actualizacin slo del Software 456 Actualizacin slo de la Base de Datos (Incluye configuracin 369 Actualizacin del Software y de la Base de Datos (Incluye configuracin). Para actualizar el software del receptor ESCLAVO, bastara con enviar al receptor MAESTRO la combinacin de teclas 123. Una vez enviado el cdigo 123, se ver en el frontal de MAESTRO una F seguida de una numeracin que va incrementando su valor a lo largo de la actualizacin. Para el receptor ESCLAVO se ver en el frontal una A seguida de una numeracin que va incrementando su valor al mismo tiempo que lo hace el IRD MAESTRO.

Una vez finalizada la Transferencia de Datos veremos lo siguiente: Frontal del IRD MAESTRO End Frontal del ESCLAVO Una P seguida de una numeracin en decremento.

ATENCIN!!!! Mientras el ESCLAVO muestre una P en el frontal, NO APAGUE EL RECEPTOR ya que se perderan datos de la memoria y el receptor NO se encendera.
Por ltimo, en el frontal del ESCLAVO veremos un End indicndonos que el DATA TRANSFER ha finalizado. Slo queda apagar / encender el receptor con el interruptor trasero

Pasos para la actualizacin del IRD

COM del adaptador USB- Serie Antes de iniciar cualquier paso, es necesario saber a que COM ha asignado nuestro ordenar el adaptador USBSerie que previamente hemos instalado. Para ello, realizaremos los siguientes pasos Entrar en el men Inicio y acceder al submen Panel de Control. Paso 2: Abrir la ventana panel de control. Paso 3: Ejecutar el men Sistema que podremos ver dentro de la ventana de panel de control.

Paso 4: Ejecutar el administrador de dispositivos. Dicho icono lo podremos encontrar dentro del men Propiedades de Sistema, en la pestaa hardware. Paso 5: Una vez en el administrador de Dispositivos, buscaremos el Puerto COM que corresponda a nuestro adaptador. En este caso el puerto COM es el 3.

Preparacin del Programa. Ejecutar el programa SMT5518L. Conectar el adaptador USB- SERIE. Elegir en el programa SMT5518L el Com que utiliza nuestro adaptador. tal y como se ha indicado anteriormente. Seleccionar el firmware en formato Bin que queremos instalar.

Preparacin del IRD para su actualizacin

Conectar la alimentacin del IRD. Poner en Stand By el receptor. Para comprobar que se encuentra en Stand By, hemos de observar que aparece el reloj en el display. Conectar el cable serie cruzado para unir nuestro IRD con el adaptador USB- Serie. Apretar el botn Flash del programa STB5518L para iniciar la actualizacin del Firmware.

Atencin. Mientras se est escribiendo el software en la flash, no apagar el IRD, esto puede provocar daos irreversibles. Espere a que aparezca en el SMT5518L la frase Firmware Update Sucessful

Una vez finalizada la actualizacin quitaremos la alimentacin del IRD.

Software update
Note: Once you have update the software, all data in data base as TV channels, Radio channels, FAV list and configuration will not be affected
Set the program Connect serial cable between PC and receiver. Execute STB5518. Select communication port. Select download software (PC>>>STB) from option menu. Select .BIN file for updating using <Browse> button.

Prepeir IRD for receiving SW: Turn on the receiver. Go to Stand by mode by pressing POWER key in front panel or by using RCU;.for IRD 120 only this last option.

Updating IRD From STB5518 program, select START button. If all steps have been follower correctly, receiver update will start. While receiver is updating, an A followed by number will appear. This number will increase as update goes on

ATENTION!!!! Once the update process has finish, do not touch receiver until Waiting for erasing flash and writing data. message appears, it will cause irreversible damage to memory.

Once flash writing is finished receiver will be correctly updated. Front panel will show End . Next turn off and on the receiver and new software will be uploaded from flash memory. We can check new software has been updated correctly by: MAIN MENU SYSTEM ABOUT IRD

How to make a Backup of the DataBase:.

Note 1: The database is composed by all dates that are not part of the software like they are it: TV List Channels Radio List Channels OSD (languaje and color of the MENU) System Setting Parental Control Installation of TP or MUX.

Note 2: All the digital receivers shown in the head of this document, have two areas where they save the Data. To the first area is known as active memory that corresponds to the list of channels shown in TV Channel or Radio Channel. When we moved or erased one or several channels of the general list, we are moving or erasing information of the active memory. To the second area is known as passive memory and it corresponds to the backup copy that is made after selecting the option of Menu SYSTEM MENU USER SAVE & LOAD SAVE PROG&CONFIG. Turn on the reciver and go to Stand-By. From the program STB5518, to select of the bar of botons, Stat. While is sending data from PC, the frontal of the receiver will show a F followed by a numeration that goes increasing its value along the upgrade When it has concluded the sending of data, it will assign a name to the file, with extension. SDX.

ATENTIN!!!! In the file with extension .SDX, will save only the data that are in the active memory and not in the passive memory.

Update DataBase from PC to Receiver

To upgrade the Database using a PC, the samesteps will be continued that for the backup copy: Select the menu option: Download Dates (PC STB). Leave the receiver in Stand-By. Choose the data file [with name.SDX] by selecting the button < Browse >. Press Start button.

Once concluded the writing in the memory and therefore update the database of the receiver, in frontal panel will show End. Next we turn on the receiver so that the new database is reading. .

Update from receiver to receiver

Necessary material:

A receiver with the last version or the most recent. It will be MASTER receiver. Serial Cable "NULL MODEM." The receiver to upgrade. It will be SLAVE receiver.

To link the two receivers with the cable series (to see detail)

Turn on the receiver MASTER by switch in the rear panel and to leave it in Stand-by pressing the key POWER. Next turn on the receiver SLAVE. At this time the MASTERs display indicates a H and the receiver SLAVE shows 0000.

Software Update from Receiver to Receiver

The upgrade by DATE TRANSFER it is made sending a code to the receiver using the remote control. This code can be one of the following ones:
123 upgrade only of the Software 456 upgrade only of the Database (it Includes configuration) 369 upgrade of the Software and of the Database (it Includes configuration).

To upgrade the receiving SLAVE's software, it would be enough with sending the receiver MASTER the keys combination 123. Once sent the code 123, it will be seen in MASTER's front panel a "F followed by a numeration that goes increasing their value along the upgrade. For the receiving SLAVE it will be seen in the front panel one A followed by a numeration that goes increasing their value at the same time that makes it the MASTER.

Once concluded the DATA TRANSFER willsee the following: Front Panel of the MASTER End Front Panel of the SLAVE A P followed by a numeration in decrement.

ATENTION!!!! While the SLAVE shows a P in the front panel, don't TURNOFF THE RECEIVER since they would get lost data of the memory and the receiver would not TURN ON.
Lastly, in the SLAVE's front panel we will see aEnd indicating us that the one DATA TRANSFER it has concluded. It is only to turnoff / on the receiver with the switch in back panel.

How to update the IRD receiver

Identity which COM uses the USB to RS 232 adapter First of all you have to know which COM has been assigned to use the USB to RS 232 adapter at the PC. For doing this, you will have to follow the next steps: Go to the Start Menu and click on Control Panel Open Windows Control Panel Click on the icon System that appears in the window

Once you are at the window System , please execute the Devices administrator. It can be found in the tab Hardware. When you see the next screen, please find the COM ports and look which is used. In this case we use the COM 3.

Software Execute the program SMT5518L. Connect the USB to RS 232 adapter. In the SMT5518L program you have to select the COM used by the Adapter ( In this case it is COM3) Select the firmware that you want to install.
