OnMonday,June17,2013,CAUSEservedasacoorganizerofthe"U.S.China2022:Economic RelationsintheNextTenYears"forumhostedbytheCommitteeof100attheMillennium BiltmoreHotel.Over250governmentandcorporateleaderswereinattendance,includingLos AngelesMayorAntonioVillaraigosa,EastWestBankCEODominicNg,andCaliforniaState ControllerJohnChiang. TheforumexploredtheeconomicrelationshipbetweenChinaandtheUnitedStatesand emphasizedthatpositivedialoguebetweenthesetwogreatpowersismutuallybeneficial. Accordingtothestudy,USChina2022, By2022,China'smiddleclassisexpectedtonumber630million,anincreasefrom230 millionin2012. In2022,USexportstoChinaareprojectedtogenerateUS$456billionworthofGDPand morethan2.54millionjobsintheUS,anincreaseof1.81millionoverthecomparable 2010figure. TheUScancreate$35billionofGDPand610,000USjobsby2022ifvisarestrictionsare streamlined,allowingupto10millionChinesetravelerstovisittheUSperyear,upfrom 1.1million2011.
