The people had prayed for it, yet they didnt see the one they had been waiting for was truly among them. That prophecy was being fulfilled in their midst. This morning, we light the Candle of Prophecy. Let this fire remind us that while we wait for the Lord, truly the Lord is already here. Hope is here. Love is here. Family is here. Matthew 3:1-12
New International Version (NIV) 3 In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea 2 and saying, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near. 3 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: A voice of one calling in the wilderness, Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. 4 Johns clothes were made of camels hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. 5 People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. 6 Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. 9 And do not think you can say to yourselves, We have Abraham as our father. I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. 10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. 11 I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Youth Worship on Wednesday Nights @ 6:00 at New Hope - teens experience contemporary and motivated style of worship (grades 7-12). We have a service with prayer, singing praises to God and a youth-focused sermon that teach the truths from Gods Word in a way teens relate to and understand. Pastor Brad leads this service, and opens the doors for teens to start coming at 5pm to hang out, play games, and talk. Pastor Brad says, We love hanging out together and worshiping an awesome God! New Hope invites the men of the church and the surrounding community to a weekly Prayer Breakfast each Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m. A devotional is shared over breakfast, and a time of prayer follows before the busy workday begins. In a casual atmosphere men may discuss concerns that stay within the group. A bond between friends develops. This is a meaningful time of fellowship for the men who attend. Visitors are always welcome. Come join us! Stephen Ministry - Got a burden? You dont have to carry that burden alone. You can have a STEPHEN MINISTER who will spend time with you, listen to you, and walk beside you. Thought for the Week

ocrates taught for 40 years, Plato for 50, Aristotle for 40, and Jesus for only 3. Yet the influence of Christs 3-year ministry far exceeds the impact left by the combined 130 years of teaching from these men who were among the greatest philosophers of all history. Jesus painted no pictures; yet, some of the finest paintings of Raphael, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci received their inspiration from Him. Jesus wrote no poetry; but Dante, Milton, and scores of the worlds greatest poets were inspired by Him. Jesus composed no music; still Haydn, Handel, Beethoven, Bach, and Mendelssohn reached their highest perfection in praise to Him. Every sphere of human greatness has been enriched by Jesus Christ. Jesus is the greatest someone who ever lived. History is HIS STORY. He is the Savior of the world, our hope of eternal life, our help in life and our haven of rest. Believe Him, believe in Him and put your trust in Him.
