Thank you and well done to ALL the children from the Nursery and Lower School. Your performances this week in your Christmas productions were absolutely fantastic and I know that every parent and grandparent thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I add a thank you to all the staff for making every performance such a success. I would like to remind all families that we will be holding our annual Carols around the Christmas Tree on Sunday at 6.00pm. This has been brought forward an hour to enable more children to come and join us and we very much hope to move it forward again to 4.30pm next year. To say thank you to the Totally Tockington team we had held a barbeque on Wednesday. Well done to all on yet another excellent terms work! Following on from my letter regarding entry into Senior School I extend an invitation to all parents of Year 6 children to come and talk through the options with me.

Kitchen Appointments
Congratulations to Ruth, Irene and Nicola who have now been appointed Catering and Events Supervisors. Between them they have been busy sourcing local suppliers to provide us all with balanced healthy meals and are also responsible for the super changes to our menus. Irene, Nicola and Ruth do a fantastic job managing all events during the week, weekends and evenings and certainly make everyone visiting the school very welcome. Milkshake Monday Morning

The last Milkshake Monday Morning of the year was enjoyed by Year 5 this week. They had their yummy banana milkshakes and Penguin bars whilst listening to poems which they selected through a lottery. They then had time to have a little browse and books were borrowed. Much fun was had and the children all said that they couldn't wait to do it again. Many thanks to Mrs Baglin and the kitchen ladies for making it all possible. Ms Case

Cross Country
Another cross country record! Alex Grocott has lowered the Junior Boys standard down to an impressive 7 minutes 18 seconds, beating his own mark by 5 seconds. Alex Jacobi ran a great race, becoming our third fastest runner in the last 30 years on the same course. He came home in 7 minutes 36 seconds. Tom Edwards ran determinedly to gain entry onto the all time Senior Boys list with 13 minutes 59 seconds (you just made it, Tom!). Max Curtis led from the front with the fastest time for seven years on the Senior Course, running a stunning 12 minutes 19 seconds. The last person to gain this time was William Christofi who is now studying Classics at Oxford. Antonia Hopcraft-Guest ran an excellent 14 minutes 41 seconds. She is currently our No. 1 female athlete. Years 3 and 4 ran very well with Harry Mather, Jake Wakeling and Archie Symonds all improving their list times. Congratulations to Otis Walker for running the fastest time this term; a super quick 20 minutes 55 seconds. Year 5 ran on Friday this week. Bennie Sanzo became the fastest Year 5 pupil under the elusive eight minute mark. He is now the tenth fastest of all time. Dalis Jones ran an excellent race, finishing with 8 minutes 15 seconds. She is now our second fastest runner on the Junior Girls course. Poppy Carter also improved her list time. Well done to all!

Pantomime Trip
Years 3, 4 and 5 went to the Everyman Theatre on Thursday to see a traditional Pantomime. This year, it was Aladdin. Here's what some of the children thought: 'The best bits were the washing foam fight and Tweedy on the tightrope. Harry Huby 'Hilarious!' Otis Walker 'Funny and Entertaining.' Isabelle Preston 'The scenery was amazing!' Carmen Rey-Jones When it went wrong, it was even funnier.' Iona Campbell 'I loved the trick with the plates.' Jacob Wakeling 'I tried the plate trick at home...with plastic plates!' Freddie Cooper The children had a fantastic time and were all superbly behaved.
