Corporate Sustainability Yes, as a mandatory operation we do excavate sites; however we make sure we give back more than what we take from the environment. One such approach is the conversion of limestone mines into a huge lake called Maisamma Sagar. As the proverb says What goes around comes around, our attempt to preserve the eco system has helped us in fighting the water scarcity problem at the plant. We have also developed the surrounding area into a picturesque spot for a picnic get-together. What more? Our Devapur and Jalgaon Plants are dotted throughout with Green Zones and our residential quarters are decked up with tree lined avenues providing lovely and healthy atmosphere. We are environmental enthusiasts and so we make the most of the Vanamahotsav and World Environment Day by planting thousands of saplings with avid gusto. As the definition of Corporate Sustainability goes, we actually contribute towards creating a long term consumer value, dedicated towards supporting the ecosystem and nurturing the society at the same time operating business without any hindrances. Sustainable Design Solutions Did you know?? Your home says a lot about what you are!! Putting some extra effort in portraying your genuine concern for the environment, does get you brownie points from your guests. After all a home that is both beautiful and a healthy living space is sure to be a cause for appreciation and envy alike. The basic check-list we need to keep in mind is:

Make the best and appropriate use of land. Water and energy resources are to be efficiently used. Adhere to eco friendly measures that will enhance health. Plan in a way that will eventually strengthen local economies. Make sure your designs are extremely nature friendly and take firm measures to not disturb the eco system in any way.

We take you through a few sustainable ways your home could be designed:

Shape guidelines for varied climates: For Cold Climates

Construct in such a way so as to maximize heat gain during chilly weather conditions. It is vital to give a compact style to the buildings; as a result there will be lesser heat loss. As per your requirement, the elongation can be done along the east or west axis.

For Temperate Climates

The construction and designing is to be done with a capacity to maximize heat gain in winter and minimize over heating in summer for temperate climatic conditions. Rectangular building alignment should be practiced in temperate conditions to avail the advantage of wind movements from both east and west directions.

For Hot and Humid Climate

The heat gain can be minimized as much as possible by constructing a smaller size of windows. The ventilation and shading facilities should be maximized that will help in fighting the heat.

For Hot and Dry Climate

Solar gain can be minimized extensively through shading, especially on the western side, thereby preventing encounter with hot winds.
