ISF World Schools Games 27th November - 4th December 2013 Braslia Brazil Ayrton Senna Aquatic Complex English Schools Swimming Team Results Day 4

England Schools Top Medal Table at ISF World Schools Swimming in Brasilia. Girls are Top Team and Boys 3rd overall. The English Schools Swimming Team were the Top Nation at the ISF World Schools Games in Brasilia with the Girls winning overall best team and the Boys finishing 3rd. The ESSA team topped the medal table with a grand total of 32 podium finishes. Ruta Meilutyte (Plymouth College) collected her third Gold with another ISF record in the 100m Freestyle ,whilst Brittany Horton (Redhill College, Stourbridge) won her second individual gold in the girls 50m Backstroke. Grace Vertigans (Plymouth College) made it a 1-2 for the College in the 100m Free. Three more Silvers and 4 Bronze medals took the ESSA medal tally to 32 which is the best return for an ESSA team at any ISF World Schools Games. Tim Hartley and Jon Rudd (ESSA Head Coachs) have been delighted with the way the whole team have contributed to the success of the team, have gelled together and all the swimmers have gained from their Brazillian experience. The ISF World Schools Gymnasiade (World Schools Games) takes place every four years having started in 1979 as a bi-annual event. The ESSA have attended every event since it started and many GB Olympians have swum at this event over the last 30 years.
