Process Paper When we originally started NHD, we knew we wanted to do a project on media and the ways it has affected

peoples lives throughout history, because we are exposed to such a high level every day and wondered how it affects our culture and life !edia, however, is an extremely broad topic We narrowed this down to one of the most influential forms of media" television #elevision in and of itself is still very broad$ it covers television programs, advertisements, news, and the ways in general that a form of new media affected people in history %ecause this years theme is &ights and &esponsibilities, we decided to focus on television advertising, because the rights and responsibilities of this topic are highly debated We began our research at our local library #he first book we found, !ade 'ou (ook by )hari *ordon, was one of our most valuable starting resources +t gave us an extensive background in advertising, a subject which we knew little about, and opened the doors to other research We used the online resources of the library system to find many other current and historical books ,nother valuable type of resource was websites of organi-ations such as the ,merican .sychological ,ssociation and #he ,dvertising /ducation 0oundation, to name a few 'outube was useful for authentic historical commercials, as long as we cross referenced with a few different videos ,lso, the New York Times archives held many helpful historical articles 0inally, our interviews with those who work in the advertising industry provided us with a wide range of information and an inside view #hey helped summari-e our research %efore we started the actual creation of the website, we did most of our research and took many notes We then made an outline for our website, added the rough information, and finally refined the text and added other media , website was the optimal medium for our project #elevision advertising is a very broad topic that goes off into multiple subtopics that we wanted
