COMMERCIAL / OFFICE
New buildings and construction are built tight to save energy while older ones are implementing measures to reduce heat and cooling loss. In doing so, the building becomes increasingly air-tight, resulting in not bringing in enough fresh air to dilute workplace contaminants that continually circulate and build in concentrations dramatically affecting air quality. Commercial and office Indoor Air Quality applications vary. Common issues facing owners, property managers, lessees, employees and visitors include those having to do with troublesome odors and maintaining clean air. It is not uncommon to have many diverse industries under one commercial roof, as such, air migrates throughout the building bringing with it airborne contaminants. UV systems can effectively address these many different IAQ issues.

INSTITUTIONS & SCHOOLS

According to the EPA, poor indoor air quality can impact the comfort and health of students and staff, which, in turn affect concentration, attendance, and student performance. HOSPITAL & MEDICAL

Ultraviolet Air and Surface Treatment Systems have been used for more than 50 years in hospitals and various other healthcare industries. With the advent of high-efficiency UV Lamp systems, it is now possible for In-Duct, Coil Mount and Stand-Alone systems to destroy high levels of airborne and surface bio-contaminants. Studies show that Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) cost the healthcare industry 30-40 billion annually and is now considered a preventable injury and is no longer reimbursable. UV systems are the ideal tool to help reduce nosocomial infections.

FOOD PROCESSING & PRODUCE

Air quality and the risk of surface contamination play a vital role for food processing, production, packaging as well as growing and storage of fruits and vegetables. UV sterilization of both the air and/or the surface of the product and packaging can dramatically reduce the possibilities of contamination and can extend produce shelf-life by destroying the off-gassing (i.e. ethylene) that causes produce to age faster.

MILITARY
From an army base to soldiers barracks to mobile cleanrooms, naval hospitals and embassies; indoor air quality plays a pivotal role in many areas of a nations military. Maintaining a sterile environment on the battlefield within a mobile cleanroom requires a versatile UV system. Protecting occupants of an office building from Biological Warfare Agents requires a UV system able to deliver the intensity to deactivate contaminants such as anthrax and smallpox UV applications can be as diverse as protecting dignitaries and heads-of-state to reducing or eliminating troublesome odors such as jet and helicopter exhaust.

ELDER CARE & DAYCARE

With the aging population come very specific needs in order to care for the elderly. Most often the aged suffer from a compromised immune system that cannot easily stay off illness and infection. Institutions that cater to the needs of the elderly are only becoming more numerous as the population ages while improved technologies can be implemented to help protect those who may have a difficult time protecting themselves. Although airborne disinfection is the number one priority for those who suffer from a compromised immune system, odors can severely impact the air quality of eldercare facilities. Odors such as body odor, urine and fecal odor can migrate through the facility impacting the quality of life for the residence, staff and visitors.

DAYCARE
