PEACE BUILDING OPERATIONS NOWADAYS IS CLEARLY HINGED ON THREE PRIMARY PILLARS: 1. Knowledge of the Terrain and the culture of the people 2. Understanding of the political environment 3. The ideology or framework that the community believes in. In the Philippine Context, this may be to address the context of secession, national integration, mainstreaming as well as countering violent extremism.

FUNCTIONAL IDEOLOGY This particular understanding is the development of a Nationalist ideology which incorporates the Filipino Muslim identity in the context of first people concept. This ensures that the operators are guided with a framework of reference from whence as political operators they would always go back to.
