Login to Web Interface to Change your default password (mandatory)

Using Web Browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome etc..) connect to https://zimbra2.cmcltd.com
Enter User Id as <first name>.<last name> Eg: suri.viriyala
Entre the default password as Cmc<DOB>/<DOJ> where DOB is Date of Birth and DOJ is Date of Joining in CMC. in the format CmcDD-MM-YYYY/DD-MM-YYYY which includes - and / characters. Also Cmc in the password is case sensitive. Eg : Cmc18-06-1970/23-09-1996

Enter desired New Password


Enter the default password in the same format as mentioned in the previous slide Enter the New Password

Click on Log In

After logging in to Zimbra2 webmail, ensure the mails are receiving. Once it is confirmed, logout from Zimbra2 webmail account and open Mozilla Thunderbird for POP3 configuration.

Log out from Zimbra2 webmail account and open MS Outlook

Change the existing account to Zimbra2 Account in MS Outlook 2007 POP3 mail client

(Use Alt+T to invoke Tools menu)

Select the existing Account

Click on Change

Step 1 : Ensure your email address is Firstname.Lastname @cmcltd.com Step 2 : Change Incoming Mail Server to 172.16.11.5 Step 3 : Change Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) to 172.16.10.98 Step 4 : Change the user name to Firstname.Lastname (Eg: prasoon.perumbadappu) Step 5 : Click on More Settings

Check Outgoing Server Authentication

Step 1 : Click on Outgoing Server Tab

Step 2 : Ensure box is unchecked

Change More Account Settings


Step 1 :Go to Advanced Tab Step 2 : Tick ON This server required an encrypted connection (SSL) Step 3 : Ensure the server timeout is Long Step 4 : If you are selecting the option Leave a copy of messages on server ensure it is not more than 2 days Step 5 : Click OK to confirm the changes

Test Account Settings Click on Test Account settings to see if it works


Note: Enable Remember Password and provide the Zimbra2 mail password on the password field for testing the account. It is optional to enable remember password after testing the account

Step 1 : Click on Yes

Step 2 : Ensure POP3 and sending Test mail is successful

Step 3 : Click on Close

Confirm the account

Click Next to confirm the account settings
