CLASS REQUIREMENTS:
• Each student is required to have a 3 ring binder with tab dividers to keep notes,
handouts, and assignments.  Students will need to bring this binder to class each
day.  It will be graded on NEATNESS, COMPLETENESS, and ORGANIZATION.
• Each student is encouraged to join and participate in the FFA organization (It is
highly encouraged but not required).  It is an excellent leadership development
program and well worth the $ 15 annual membership dues.

• GRADING CRITERIA:  Grade for the course will be figured in the following manner:
Tests and Assignments 45%
Three Ring Binder 30%
Labs and Participation 25%
These percentages are estimated averages and may differ at time of grading
Grading System
A = 93-100% A- = 90-92% B+ = 87-89% B = 83-86% B- = 80-82%
C+ = 77-79% C = 73-76% C- = 70-72% F = 0-69%

Tardies and Attendance

Tardies are very disruptive to the learning process. Tardies will be dealt with in the
following manner. Each day there will be a quiz that will review what was covered in the
previous class and will be turned in for credit. If the student is tardy they will miss the
opportunity to earn these points. These points will make up a large percent of the
participation grade and are extremely important. Fifteen minutes late is considered an
unexcused absence. The Teacher determines if a tardy is excused or unexcused.

Attendance Policy:
We will follow the Canyon View High School attendance policy found on pages 9 the
student handbook.

This year I will be posting assignments and other information for class on the internet at
burtoncvhs.posterous.com. If your are absent you need to check the website before
coming to me. I will post assignment due dates and test dates on there as well. It is
the student's responsibility to complete the work in the time frame that is given. Missed
assignments will need to be turned in within two days of the days upon the students
return or no credit will be given. Depending on the assignment the student may be
required to come in before, after school or during lunch to make it up. Missed tests
must be made up within 3 days upon the students return or no credit will be given.
