Superfloc Washer Train Flocculants The Bayer Process for alumina refining consumes large quantities of water.

Water scarcity issues are on the rise and bauxite quality is on the decline. Effective separation and washing of red mud minimizes alumina and caustic losses while maximizing process efficiency. Kemira offers the industry standard Superfloc line of high-molecular weight, high-charge anionic flocculants. They are engineered for efficient settling of red mud in the washer train.

We manufacture high-quality Superfloc flocculants that are used in a wide range of applications. Kemiras global network of manufacturing plants utilizes state-of-the-art process control to ensure consistent product quality for reliable performance in your operations. Our continual emphasis on new technology combined with applications expertise provides cost-effective solutions in your daily operations. Kemiras broad product portfolio can improve throughput, enhance yield and optimize the process in many applications.

When you partner with Kemira you work with application experts and collaborate with a supplier of polyacrylamide polymers with full back-integration to acrylamide and extensive polymer manufacturing capabilities. Experienced Research & Development staff along with our applications experts and technical sales representatives are available for consultation. They can assist in the selection of the optimum flocculant for your process.

Product Benefits Our polymers are manufactured to achieve very high molecular weights. A range of products with various anionic charges has been tailored to ensure that the optimum selection can be made for all stages of the washer train. The resulting benefits provide advantages over most of the commonly used products in the industry, including: Low dosage requirements to maximize cost effectiveness Negligible effect on underflow rheology and improved mud pumpability Less blockage in the strainers

Product Makedown and Application Kemiras Superfloc washer flocculants are supplied as easy-to-handle emulsions, resulting in short hydration time and small makedown systems. Initial dilution or breaking is recommended at 0.5-2.0% with final dilution strength of 0.1% to 0.01%. Products have been specifically formulated to break well in a wide range of process streams including washer overflow and lake water. Final dilute solutions need minimal aging prior to use.
