Cast on 8 sts.
Row 1 (RS): K1, [M1, k1] 7 times
15 sts.
Rows 2, 4 and 6: Purl across.
Row 3: K1, [M1, k1] 14 times29 sts.
Row 5: K1, [M1, k2] 14 times43 sts.
Row 7: K1, [M1, k6] 7 times50 sts.
Row 8: Purl across.
Point
Work on frst 10 sts only.
Row 9: K8, k2tog9 sts.
Row 10: P7, p2tog8 sts.
Row 11: K6, k2tog7 sts.
Row 12: P5, p2tog6 sts.
Row 13: K4, k2tog5 sts.
Row 14: P3, p2tog4 sts.
Row 15: K2, k2tog3 sts.
Row 16: P1, p2tog2 sts.
Row 17: K2tog.
Cut yarn and pull through last st,
fasten of.
Rejoin yarn and work on next
10 sts in same way until 5 points

Assembly
Sew sides of frst and 5th points tog.
With WS tog, sew 2 pieces tog
using mattress st, leaving a small
opening. Stuf with fberfll; sew rem
opening closed. Sew ribbon to 1
point and tie a bow.

Row 20: Pass 7 sts over frst st

Cut yarn and pull through last st,
fasten of.
Assembly
Sew edges of ball tog on RS, leav-
ing a small opening. Stuf with
fberfll and sew rem opening
closed. Brush ball with a hair comb
to make it fufy.
For a garland, make as many
snowballs as desired and string
them on same fufy yarn used for
knitting. To keep snowballs from
sliding on yarn, make knots at each
side of snowball. n
