Jr/Sr High School Exam Schedule


The Jr./Sr. High School will be administering exams the week of December 16, 2013. Our students and staff will be preparing for the upcoming exams and we encourage you to instruct your students of the importance of these upcoming tests. Exams will count as 20% of the students final semester grade. Please see the exam timetable below. This is not an open exam schedule. Students are expected to be in school for the full school day on Tuesday, December 17th and Wednesday, December 18th. Students that turn in a signed parental permission slip and have no make -up exams will be permitted to leave after the fifth period exam block is completed at 10:50 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013. Permission slips will be sent home with the students on Monday, Dec. 9th. Students leaving at 10:50 a.m. must leave the building immediately through the North doors, provide their own transportation from school and are not permitted to be on FIES property. Students that remain after 10:50 a.m. will be required to report to and remain in the cafeteria until 2:35 p.m. unless they have an exam to make up. Next Generation Relay for Life


Relay for Life team taking a trip to Cleveland Next Generation Relay for Life of FJSHS is hard at work again this year raising money in the fight against cancer. The students sold They all Matter t-shirts in September, hosted a Cancer Awareness football game in October, and are currently selling candy bars and scarves at athletic events. The students will be taking a trip to the Hope Lodge in Cleveland on Wednesday, December 11th, 2013. The Hope Lodge is totally funded by donations. The team will be sharing some holiday spirit with patients receiving treatments for cancer at the Cleveland Clinic and their caregivers. The students will be supplying a potluck luncheon for everyone at the Lodge and spending time talking with the patients and their family members. Band members on the Relay team will be taking their instruments to play Christmas carols for the patients and their caregivers. We will also be singing Christmas carols for everyones afternoon entertainment. The students will be having a lockin on November 27th to make holiday ornaments and Christmas cards, loom hats, sew fleece hats, make fleece scarves, frost cookies, and make gift bags for each patient and caregiver at the Lodge. The students will also be collecting items that are on the Wish List to take to Cleveland. If you would like to donate any of the following items, please drop the items off in the attendance office before December 10th.

BENEFIT NIGHT NEXT GENERATION RELAY FOR LIFE WED., DEC. 4TH FROM 4:307:30 P.M. @ FOSTORIA McDONALDS RESTAURANT The group will receive a percentage of all sales during this time slot. Proceeds will go to help spread awareness to cancer prevention.

On Saturday, December 28th, we will be hosting the Junior High basketball Holiday Classic with Fremont St Joseph. Pre-sale tickets include admission to all four games and a Dells lunch of ribs or chicken plus sides for $11 each. Dells lunch will also be available as a to -go meal. Please call Michele Wolf at the Jr./Sr. High School or e-mail her at mwolf@fostoriaschools.org to pre-order tickets. Junior High basketball players will also be selling tickets through the month of December. All games will be played in the High School gym and lunch will be served in the High School cafeteria.
