KNOWLEDGE BASE Solar Photovoltaic system design for Grid-interactive, off-grid and hybrid system. Project done under optimization of heat losses for Solar Thermal Flat Plate Collectors and Concentrated Solar Power (CSP). Project done to understand the feasibility of using waste heat from thermal power plants to power Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC). Wind power, Fuel Cell, Wave power Technology, Waste Resource Management, Energy Management 2005-2009 Distinction KNOWLEDGE BASE Power Plant Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Environmental Science & Engineering, Thermodynamics RESEARCH & EXPERIMENTAL PROJECTS Solar Thermal effect and its optimization for flat plate collectors (March 2010 Sep 2010) The project deals with the design optimization approach for a Solar Thermal flat plate collector system. Working with solar simulator, absorber materials, collector systems, efficiency formulation & analysis, usage of software tools and understanding solar thermal behavior were the key highlights of this project. Development of an optimum design structure resulting in better efficiency and stability was achieved. Feasibility of Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion using waste heat recovery in U.K. Sep 2009- Jan 2010. This project was done to analyze the feasibility of utilizing the waste heat from conventional thermal power plants to run an Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) power unit in the United Kingdom. As a team member, I was involved in developing two new design circuits for this project and also designed a new theoretical approach that could prove to be a potential solution. An in-depth understanding about the working of an OTEC system and other conventional and non conventional power units was achieved during this research Comparative study between Wind power sector and Thermal power sector in India, Vestas wind technology india.2008 2009. The project deals with a comparative study between Wind Power sector and Thermal Power sector in India. The project deals with Technical, Financial, Economical and Environmental differences of both these sectors in India. It also describes the innovations and modifications that could be incorporated in both these sectors for a sustainable development.
