Design Philosophy
! The theme of my design is professional, yet elegant as well as sophisticated. My target customer is a beginner lawyer with much to o"er to the law rm shes working for. With her dedication to win all her cases, she represents her company positively in many ways. One is her sense of fashion. Her style still has that professional court room look when it comes to its clean cut look, but what sets her apart from other lawyers is her cultivating style. Most of her work garments consists of cultivating and unique designs. The designs are tted to t her shape and show o" her gure in a professional and classy way. There are di"erent varieties of designs as well as colors to show o" her vibrant personality. Texture wise I want the fabric I use to feel smooth on the body, so spandex mix fabrics are what I plan to use. Also, spandex mix fabrics have the stretch and add comfort. My method of constructing these garments is using a serger. From past experiences Ive learned that the serger holds the garment very well. When using stretch fabric the serger is the best method to get good results. As part of the design I will be using cotton and cotton blend fabrics to add that cultivate aspect of the design. I say cultivate because thats something I havent seen in a professional setting like a law rm. incorporating some aspect of a di"erent culture into a garment will give this young lawyer uniqueness as well as setting her apart from other lawyers.
