- 1 Table saw - 1 Jigsaw saber saw - 1 Drill and drill bits - 2 Clamps and a 24" bar
needed

STEP 4: The top of pot has a 3/4" plywood lid, screwed into the sides. Cut a 5" x 5" hole to match the bottom of the steam box. STEP 5: Using propane tank and burner, begin with water in pot and bring to a steam with the pieces of wood inside the wooden box with parts cut to 1/4" x 2" x 32".

Drill holes for rope. Then proceed with drilling and counter sinkhole with 1 1/4" screws. Make sure the screws do not go through the bottom. Glue and screw from the top down into floor boards. STEP 9: At the front of the sled, use a router to cut a dado (trench cut) groove 1/4" in thickness, so the 8" steamed bent front pieces can be glued into place. STEP 10: Glue radius pieces in place at the front of the sled. A 1 1/4" width of the sled is glued and screwed to keep shape. Clamp to bring the pieces to the height and shape as shown in Step 11 image.

- 1 3" 4" belt sander - 1 Pencil - 1 Roll duct tape STEP 1: At this time, decide the length of sled (the one pictured is 6 feet). Begin by cutting floor boards 2 3/4" x your choice of length. Cut extra parts to be used for sizing and assembly. Parts for front of the sled are 1/4"x2"x32". Wood should be free of all knots and straight grain. Cut more parts than needed for steam bending. Decide width of the sled and begin.

STEP 2: Build Radius Form: The form is built from pine boards to form 8" radius. Take the 1" x 12" x 96" pine board and cut to 16" length. Create an 8" radius at one end. Four pieces need to be glued together to have 3" width (use pieces that are left over to create base). STEP 3: Build Steam Box: Build a box measuring 12" x12"x36" from 3/4" plywood with a door at one end, with a slide lock. Create a 5"x5" square hole at the bottom to be placed on a crab pot.

STEP 6: After an hour, pull pieces out of the box and bend them to/around the radius form. Pull out from form and use duct tape on the ends to maintain bend. Allow 30 minutes to rest from when the pieces are in the radius. Duct tape is used to keep the radius to form until final assembly. STEP 7: Now we have all the parts for assembly. Begin with floor boards: Line up side by side with 1/8" gap between boards. Place a bar clamp across side to side and tighten and secure. STEP 8: At this time, cut pieces 1'1/4"x5/8" width of sled. Measure and mark where holes will go, 1" from each end and 3/8" in the center.

STEP 11: Sand and finish with an outdoor polyurethane finish. STEP 12: Create a knot in the rope, then thread it through each of the holes in the rear of the sled. Next, thread the rope through each hole towards the front. With an 1'4" eyebolt installed from bottom of the sled, counter sink a 1/4 nut into wood from the bottom of the sled. Countersink a nut into wood and fill with putty at a later time. Proceed with rope across the front and down into another eyebolt. Continue through the floorboard toward the rear of the sled. At the end tighten the rope and tie off with a knot. STEP 13: Its all downhill from here.
