LIZ LEIGHS MISSION STATEMENT Infusing the world of classical and contemporary art with modern dance, the Liz Leigh Company strives to deliver performances that will leave audiences intellectually stimulated and immensely entertained.

WHO WE ARE Based in Chicago, Illinois, the Liz Leigh Company employs a diverse group of dancers who all possess a variety of dance skills. Trained in a range of genres from classical and ballet to hip hop and modern dance, the LL performers come together to create a unique form of contemporary dance that seeks to push boundaries.

WHAT WE DO The LL performers seek inspiration from the works of some of the worlds best established and up-and-coming artists. Utilizing artistic mediums such as costumes, paint mediums, and technology, the LL performers bring art exhibitions to life through dance. Performed in the very setting the artwork is displayed, the performers use movement and form in a way that gives the still art new life.

THE UPCOMING SERIES. INFATUATION: AN ARTISTIC INTOXICATION OF THE MIND Experience lust, love, and disenchantment as the LL dancers entice you to feel all the emotions of a modern day love affair. Infatuation the newest three part series produced by the LLCDC is inspired by the companys performers interpretations of classical and modern day still art. Utilizing artistic mediums in a way not seen today, each part of the series will leave audiences anticipating the next. In bringing still art to life the LL dancers strive to connect audiences to the art work that will have them seeing beyond the surface of the canvas. All installments of the Infatuation Series will begin promptly at 8:30pm in their respective venues and last for approximately an hour. A reception will follow all shows where drinks and hors doeuvres will be served. Receptions will also serve as an opportunity for guests to meet the productions performers and featured artist. Tickets for each individual installment or the entire series package can be purchased online at our website or picked up at our office location. The Series will take place over the months of July, August, and September 2012. Shows will happen twice a week: Fridays and Saturdays.

JULY: LUST Dates: 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th Lust, part one of the Infatuation series, is inspired by the works of Patrick McGannon a contemporary artist and Chicago native. Highlighting the fluidity and abstraction of McGannons work, performances reflect the emotion felt by the LL dancers and dare to explore the desire and drive encompassed in the very core of lust. Part one: The LL Dancers will tell the story of two individuals desiring each other from a distance for quite some time.

AUGUST: LOVE Dates: 4th, 10th, 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th Transitioning from Lust, Love, part two of the Infatuation series, is inspired by the works of Corinna Button. Fusing the interpretation of Buttons artwork and the creative capabilities of the LL dancers, Love will embrace the contemporary abstractness of Cottons still art and divulge into the different realms of how love is viewed in todays society. Part two: The story continues with the two individuals falling in love, and the passion escalating between the LL Dancers.

SEPTEMBER: DISENCHANTMENT Dates: 8th, 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd, 28th, 29th In the last installment of the Infatuation series, the artwork of Kimberly Thurston brings the three part love affair to a close with Disenchantment. A world wind of expression inspired by the work of Thurston, Disenchantment dares to visit the emotional aftermath felt when the affairs of the heart go astray. Part three: The passionate trilogy comes to an end as the LL Dancers explore the trials and tribulations of a relationship leading to a breakup.
