Pre-Service Teacher, Fisher JR/SR High School, Fisher, IL Fall 2012 Planned and taught US History lessons for 11th graders on Gilded Age Politics, The SpanishAmerican War, and World War I. Taught lessons using primary source analysis. Composed a worksheet that promoted student critical analysis and developed stronger essay-writing skills. Original instruction plans included a variety of media-related technologies to reach the needs of the diverse student body and promote active engagement. Participated in a students IEP meeting with parent and fellow teachers. Pre-Service Teacher, Edison Middle School, Champaign, IL Spring 2013 Planned and taught US History lessons for 7th graders on The Oregon Trail, The LincolnDouglas Debates, and the Home Front during the Civil War. Taught lessons using majority group/partner work. Created assignment that allowed students creativity to show through their demonstration of knowledge of campaign posters. Unique instruction plans utilized 21st century technology and resources to captivate my students attention. Participated in weekly team planning meetings on classroom development and student progress.
