The role of vehicles and mobile machines is the transportation. Classification of vehicles. Properties of the railway track-vehicle system. Internal combustion piston engines used in vehicles, constructional layout, energetic processes, operational performances. Main units of mechanical transmissions with vehicles, clutch, gear-box, Cardan-shaft, final drive gear. Classification of road vehicles, transmission systems, layout of differential gears. Brake systems of road vehicles, steering systems, layout of running gears. Rudiments of the operation of air vehicles, the aero-dynamical lift and drag. Eligible subjects for both semesters: Financing transport infrastructure (BMEKOKG8517) Presentation of theoretical base of transport infrastructure financing and development of skills for practical applications. Financing principles, methods and procedures: Equity Funding, Debt Funding, Private Financing Initiative, PPP for designing, planning, constructing and operating of transport infrastructure. Presentation and application of a software as a decision making tool for preparation of feasibility studies. Risk analysis of financing transport infrastructure. International case studies.

The course will consist of 3 hours lessons/week during the 14 weeks (2 hour lecture and 1 hour seminar - where students will be expected to provide brief oral presentations). Air transport management (BMEKOKGA227) Target: to study the operation of air transport industry (airlines, airport, air traffic control). Includes air passenger transport and freight transport. Topics: Deregulation and liberalization, strategy (alliances and Low Cost airlines), air transport market, marketing, cost calculation, pricing and Yield Management, quality, human factors in air transport, crew management, environment and air transport, how to reduce environment contamination of air transport, Ground Handling activities/Network Planning. Transport Logistics (BMEKOKUA304) Introduce the students in course of Transport Logistics to the up to date processes of logistics information technologies in the fields of transportation, identification and navigation systems, e-business, geographic information systems (GIS), enterprise resource planning systems (ERP) and simulation technologies. Introduce the students to the standards and application of unit load handling and containerization in transportation handling systems. Introduce the students to a process of method for planning of warehousing and material handling systems inside the enterprises and between logistic centres. Calculation methods for truck stability and standard courses of truck system utilization in warehouses. Computer Applications in Vector Mechanics (BMEKOJK8694) Covers elementary programming concepts, including variable types, data structures. The basic concept is to present the essential steps in computer aided problem solving. First priority is to deepen the technical terms in the field of mechanical engineering. The semester covers the analysis of beams, columns, tensioned beams, trusses, frames, arches, cables, and shafts of general shape and material, including composites; exact and approximate methods, energy methods, principle of virtual work, and introduction to computational structural mechanics. Maple is used during the semester. Machines and devices of logistics (BMEKOEAA305) Classification of transported goods. Materials handling machines for handling solid bulk materials (Roller conveyors, Belt conveyors etc.). Materials handling machines for unit loads. Machines for container handling. Forklifts, automatic guided vehicles, overhead conveyors, overhead cranes. Capacity analysis of complex materials handling systems. Modelling possibilities of complex materials handling systems. Application of simulation software in manufacturing logistics. The classes include theoretical and practical aspects of the above problems. As a practise basics of Simul8 modelling is also discussed. At the and the students take a written exam from the learning material. Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics II. (BMEKORHA419) After study the aerodynamics this subject introduces the calculation of the aircraft performance, description of the aircraft motion, and the students will analyze the dynamic motion of aircraft, their stability and control, knowledge of which are required for defining the structural solution for investigating aircraft. Determination of the aircraft performance: calculation of characteristics of taxiing, take-off, climb, cruise, descent, approach, landing, turnings. Load and flight envelops. Problems of optimization, optimization of climb, dynamic programming, optimization of the flight path. Description of the aircraft 3D motion in space, system of motion equations, linearization, separation and analysis of the longitudinal and

lateral motion. Investigation of the aircraft stability. Stability and controllability. Characterization of the control systems. Control problems and their solutions. Automatic pilot system. Motion, stability and control of the special flying machines, helicopters. Aeroelasticity. Divergence, aileron reserval velocity. Aerodynamics and flight dynamics of the non-rigid body aircraft. The student deal with calculation of flight performance, stability and control of aircraft during their practical hours and making their homework. Some of problems they must solve by using MATLAB. Basic theory of vehicle engineering (BMEKOVJA112) Physical quantities used in vehicle engineering, systems of units of measures. Rudiments of metrology, evaluation of measurement results. Steady-state operation of vehicles and machines, computation of work done and power exerted. Simple means of speed-, force- and power transmission. Non-steady-state operation of vehicles and machines, the speed-timing diagram, resistance forces. Varying losses with machines, efficiency, optimum loading state. Periodic motions of vehicles and machines, damping of vibrations, reduction of the degree of inequality. The balance of fluid at rest. Energy contain and work capacity. Hydrostatic jack. Swimming state and stability of ships. Work capacity of flowing fluid, flow processes in pipesystems. Fluid delivery by pump. Machines utilising the impulse-change with fluids, simple turbines. Operation processes with gas-engines, compression and expansion of gases, operation cycles and efficiency-conditions of heat-engines. Basic performance curves and combined operation of machines, matching point and stability. Basic concepts of machine control and regulation. Quality of road traffic (BMEKOGJA113) The subject deals with the integrated and integrable quality control systems applied in the automotive industry, covering the condition of their introduction, application and improvement. A further task is to ensure that the students are capable of managing, operating and adequately measuring quality control systems with the tools of industrial project management acquiring the related skills. They are familiarized with the practical application of quality techniques and become able to prevent and avoid potential failures to ensure an equal good standard. Experimental Modal Analysis (BMEKOEA 8592) Basics of EMA: Equations of linear MDOF system. Eigenvalues, eigenvectors. FRF function formulas. Ortogonality relations. Classical normal modes. Experimental methods of FRF measurements: Frequency-domain methods, time-domain methods. Estimation of modal parameters. Modal model making. Output-Only methods. Investigation of EMA model: Mode shapes, Sensitivity analysis, Structure dynamic modification, Parameter identification. Applications of EMA model: FEA model validation and update, Earthquake sensitivity, Structure optimization, Damping identification. Case studies. Labor measurements: National Instruments equipments, LabView.
