THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF YOUTH IN CULTURAL PRESERVATION AMID STRONG CURRENTS of GLOBALIZATION

Im Indonesian youth. Youre Indonesian youth. And were Indonesian young generation. Arent we? Whats means of young generation? Listen. Be careful if you admit as the young generation. Because young generation has important means that influence the nation.Young generation means is as the tip of spear of the movement, and young generation who grap the relay race of struggle of the nation. The young generation is the value mirror of quality of country. If the young generation is broken, the county was destroyed overall. Same as our culture today. If no one youth who loves and maintains the beautiful heritage of our culture. Indonesian culture will be lost eaten by the time. And we just can find it at the history lesson. I never, never and never hope it!!, how about you guys?? My be loving Indonesian youth.. But, we face it today. Most of Our young generation to day more love the other culture of country. Such as Korean culture, k-pop, Korean dance, western music. And they change their style of life such as free life, free sex, drug, brawl, wasteful, circle or environment careless. Are you kidding guys? But there are fact : ANU(Australian national university) and UI(university of Indonesia) research on 2010 that 650 ribu of jakarta youth was disvirgin. That all because of free sex. 5 billion of Indonesian people is user of drug. (bogor,kompas.com) On maret 2013, 103.759 indonesian people was infected by HIV, and 43.347 was AIDS sufferers and this one because of freesex and usage of drug. Komnas PA has been recorded, on 2012 there are 147 cases of brawl and from these cases 82 children was killed.

oh GOD keep me,my family and my friends from that all? Ladies and gentlemen.. How could that haven guys? Ectually that are not our culture that are not our nation character and that are not our mental state. Arent that? So, how could that haven? Actually our culture has the great character as a polite culture, care one other, have the regulation of life, obey our own religious, obey the parents ect. If we want to compare between Indonesian culture and western culture, or Indonesian and other culture. We have the fact. If we open our deep eyes, our deep mind that Indonesia as the richest country for culture. From sabang till maroeke has various cultures, aceh with saman dance and serune kalee music, medan with tor tor dance and aramba music, Bangka Belitung my beloved island with nganggung, sambut dance, campak dance, dambus ect. riau, padang, jogja, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, papua, have various culture with one meaning that is Indonesian culture. We have a billion beautiful culture. But why our young generation today more love the western culture than their own culture.

So, Who will be blamed for this case ? Globalization ? current scientific progress ? Or rapidly advancing technologies are eliminating boundaries between state and space ? They are improper to blame. And the big mistake is placed in ourselves who cant hold the technology, who just can become a good audience, the best viewer in the middle of globalization flow. Who just can follow style mode and cant create it. Who just follow style life of western culture. Ladies and gentlemen.. We must move from this position. We must become the subject of the movement. We must become the agent of change. And we must conquer the globalization. Actually why our culture never become the the mode style or the life style of our youth? And why American, Indian, japan, Korean can adapt their culture as the world culture as the life style of the world? The key is Strive synergy between culture and technology. Or in other word we marry them. The culture and the technology. Everyday,, every seconds our young generation can be separated from technology and information. Such as internet, tv, social media, facebook, twitter, youtube and ect. That why most of our young generation more love western culture. Because whole of social media today have been influenced by the western culture. Because they control the technology. They are the head of information today. Ladies and gentlemen.. My beloving Indonesian young generation.. We cant stay a while, we cant sleep well. We must replace our position from the best audience to the great holder of technology. We have many smart people in Indonesia. At last try to hold one other.. unite every various heart for keeping and preserving our youth and our beautiful culture.
