LITTLE IS MUCH WHEN GOD IS IN IT Pastor Sean Pinder Little is much when God is in it.

That is exactly what I want to preach to you. We are going to talk about Gideon. Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley. (Judges 7:1) Now, the children of Israel here were in bondage to the Midianites because they had sinned against God; God allowed them to go into bondage. Isnt that amazing? Any time people turn their backs on God, He allows the devil to take them captive. Some people are captive to the devil; they are wrapped up in the flesh. Do you think that is coincidental? That is Scriptural. And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. (Judges 7:2-3) Ill never forget when God spoke this to me the first time. God said, Whosoever is fearful Do you know what fearful means? It means, full of fear; not one ounce of faith. You can get afraid with being fearful. When you become fearful, you are full of fear and no faith is there. He said, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart In other words, If you cant handle what God is about to do, go home. If you are fearfulif you are a cowardgo home; you cant handle the job. He even said, let him return and depart early Do not even hang around; leave now if you cant handle it. There returned of the people, how many? There returned twenty and two thousand. How many was he left with? He was left with 10,000. That means Gideon started out with 32,000 people and God told all the cowards and the chickens to go home. He was saying, I dont have time for cowards; tell them to leave. They were shaking in their boots, so 22,000 left Gideon alone. Look at verse 4: And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go. (Judges 7:4)

The Lord told Gideon, The people are yet too many Some of the stuff that happened in your life was the hand of God. All of it was not the devil; some of it was God. So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink. And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water. (Judges 7:5-6) Three hundred men were willing get down and drink water like a dog. The Bible says, A living dog is better than a dead lion (Eccl. 9:4). Did you know that? Even a living dog has more hope than a dead lion. Why did God test them so strangely? Dogs do not care. Dogs are always hungry. Have you ever seen a dog? They are always looking for something; they are hungry. They are passionate. So God said, Everyone who laps water like a dog Why did He say that? He wanted to distinguish people who meant business with God from people who did not mean business with Him. Today, He wants to distinguish between people who were hungry, passionate, and willing to go all the way with God, even if it means leaving your job to serve Jesus. That draws the line quickly. Gideon was left with 300 men. Do you know how many people left Gideon right then? 9,700 people left him. Isnt that amazing? He was left with 300 men. 31,700 people walked away from Gideon because they could not handle it. The anointing on your life will drive people away from you, do you know that? Do you know the anointing might be sweet and precious, but it can make some people get very uncomfortable? My wife and I walk into some peoples houses and they chang e the channel on their TV. They say, You know Sean doesnt go for that. Lets find a Christian station. And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place. (Judges 7:7) This is what God spoke to me: By the three hundred men Little is much in Gods hands. Guess how many people they were going up against? They were going up against at least a 150,000-man army. You tell me how that looks to you. Where in the world do 300 men stand a chance against 150,000?
