I too bought some of those little plastic LED holders.

However, I discovered that once in place, only top 10 of the LED was visible. !nd I wanted to ta"e advantage of every bit of light that the LED produces both from the side and from the tip. I#m well aware that most of the light is seen from the tip of the LED. $ut there I% some light bleed from the sides too. %o I didn#t use #em on the non&conductive board. I DID use them on the parabolic dish of the later model blin"ers. $ut I cut the plastic side latches to allow me to push up the LED a bit more. I also inserted a small piece of the board to "eep the LEDs pushed up as well. I can send you pictures if you want to see what I meant. I used the non&conductive board because I was planning on mounting the LEDs directly to the board. 'he bare prongs would#ve shorted out the LEDs if I had used regular board. (sing the non&conductive gives me easier control of where and how I want the current to flow. !nd it was great building material too.
