Nice instructable, but please next time don't use CAPS all the way through! It's very tiresome to read.

Mar 10, 2009. 9:33 AM REPLY holy crap leave the dude alone so he wrote it in caps. maybe he did it so it was easier to read. I wish I could buy stuff from the army... well your army anyways...
cid2323 says:
whatever
Derin says:
It's actually harder to read in all-caps.
shive55 says:
Please don't write in caps. It hurts my brain

was not paying attention to the CAP thing....sorry..

Aug 5, 2009. 6:16 PM REPLY Great instructable, very complete, and I particularly liked the idea of putting it on a cart. Very nicely done and with lots of thought to cheap parts. Not to harp on about it, but seriously, dude: say no to all caps. My ears hurt from reading, and that's a hard feat to accomplish.
cid2323 says:
yea! just in a hurry to finish the typing thing.....sorry about caps...change my account to cid2323...

Mar 7, 2010. 7:47 PM REPLY what are the limitations on this? exactly how much power can you get out of this continually and in peaks? how many devises can this operate? how many batteries can you charge with this to provide power continually at night or without light? how many of these will it take to meet the power needs of the average home? I'm just curious to know this info so as to consider all possibilities for application.
cid2323 says:
May 25, 2010. 2:37 PM REPLY There are many variables that will greatly affect the operation of a solar system, that would include panel wattage, battery, voltage regulators and power converters. Sunny or cloudy days...power consumption...three ways you can for sure have constant power without failure are: HYDRO, WIND, and SOLAR. If you are lucky enough to be around all three feeding that constant energy into a home with one or more....then you are golden. There are many good systems out there. It all depends what applications you want to use them for.... I forgot my original......SORRY I changed my account to cid2323 due to the fact

Mar 20, 2010. 12:10 PM REPLY Why did you attach the solar panel to a cart that can not be used outside in harsh weather or moved on anything other than a flat surface? Also, why in the name of god did you use all-caps?, they make you seem far less credible.
cid2323 says:
was just bored by keeping it simple, and sorry about the CAP thing...didnt realize I had it in caps was in a hurry to finish....

Do you know the FSG and the FSC number for the solar collector? Or do you have the NIIN number? Thanks, Ken.

Sep 13, 2009. 5:51 PM REPLY ABOUT THE CAPS. IF YOU DON'T TYPE VERY WELL IT IS MUCH EASIER AS YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HITTING THE SHIFT KEY AND EVERYTHING COMES OUT CORRECT. WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO BE SO FREAKIN PICKY. EXCELENT JOB ON THE STRUCTABLE. TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT PEOPLE THAT HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN BE CRITICAL OF OTHER PEOPLES EFFORT.

Mar 2, 2010. 6:19 PM REPLY HEY! LEAVE THE KID ALONE! EVERYONE KNOWS THAT ONCE YOU TURN ON CAPSLOCK, IT IS FOREVER IRREVERSIBLE! THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!

Oct 21, 2009. 8:17 PM REPLY YEAH ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU DONT USE GRAMMAR I MEAN WHO CARES ABOUT GRAMMAR ANYWAY ITS NOT LIKE IT ACTUALLY MATTERS PLUS ITS NOT LIKE IT SEEMS LIKE YOURE YELLING OVER THE INTERNET, I MEAN WHO WOULD EVER THINK THAT I MEAN COMMON? EVERYONE KNOWS CAPS IS THE BEST WAY TO COMMUNICATE LIKE IN REAL LIFE WHEN YOU YELL ALL THE TIME IT MAKES YOU SOUND SMART :P But other than the caps, great instructable! I'm curious where you got the solar panel, you mentioned something about it being US Army Surplus? (and really, caps DO make it harder to read)
cid2323 says:
May 25, 2010. 2:41 PM REPLY ok I get it, enough about the CAP thing,......anyway, the panel was going straight to the burn pit so I thought I would build something.......and yes I forgot to take the caps offfffffff Oct 21, 2009. 9:39 PM REPLY IT AINT MY INSTRUCTABLE. TRY TO GROW UP A LITTLE. IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY CAPS JUST DON'T READ IT. I CAN'T BELIEVE I JUST BROUGHT MYSELF DOWN TO YOUR LEVEL...

Oct 25, 2009. 7:31 PM REPLY I second all the other sentiments here as it relates to the project. Great instructalbe. I built a smaller scale and now I have this to help me build a larger one. As for the caps issue, it's just a clash of the cultures that the Internet is (has been) forcing us as human beings to deal with. Some will adapt to new etiquette in the online culture and others won't. There's no "etiquette" police that I'm aware of...yet.
M4industries says:
Easy on the caps.

Your capitalization is obnoxious.

Oct 30, 2009. 3:13 PM REPLY A lead acid battery is the opposite of "lead free and acid free" as mentioned in the intro. I was intrigued to see what type of battery was used and dissapointed to see a lead acid battery when you had promissed the opposite.
cid2323 says:
I took a pic of the wrong battery....the lead free battery was under the table...

Oct 21, 2009. 9:08 PM REPLY In all seriousness, the capital letter aspect is NOT criticizing you, just something that you did. Those talking about the "naysayers whining and griping" need to understand that while it's a wonderful idea and 'ible, it's very frustrating to read capital letters. Jul 8, 2009. 9:40 PM REPLY Does the Portable Solar AC Power by jackson88 give out pure Sine Wave or is it square like ?Can we use this Portable Solar AC power for any AC appliance?
fatmazz says:
cid2323 says:
Sep 1, 2009. 1:18 PM REPLY not pure sine wave with cheap converters, if you want to plug in AC appliances you need a much more powerful converter that can crank out 3k watts or higher......

Apr 8, 2009. 10:23 AM REPLY i would have made a box, about 3 times the thickness of the solar panel, and have the inverter and everything inside of it and on the side have a gifci(i think thats right)outlet so you just take it outside and plug whatever on the side. and maybe some flat, small, thin lead acid batteries to the controller. hey, maybe i could built my own controller Feb 26, 2009. 10:04 PM REPLY This is an awesome instructable! Hope you win the contest! Can't believe that instead on placing importance on how this invention makes great use of solar energy, the fact that it is written in caps locks sidetracked everyone. GET REAL PEOPLE! ha ha! This is awesome jackson88 keep up the good work and good luck! Feb 23, 2009. 11:00 AM REPLY The actual project and most of the pictures look good, but the written content does not explain how you built this. It sort of says I DID THIS WITH SOME ARMY SURPLUS STUFF... HA HA! Could you re-write this (with CAPS-LOCK off)? L
