discovered.
3. Place and receive calls using E.164 (regular phone number). The
gatekeeper will translate the phone numbers to IP addresses.

2. Congure the protocol and IP settings, including the test sets
alias. The gatekeeper can be directly specied or automatically
discovered.
3. Place calls to outside PSTN numbers with a gateway present
in the system. When a phone number is used, the gatekeeper
will route the request to a gateway which will communicate to
the PSTN POTS.
4.2.4 Voice Quality Measurement
Non-intrusive voice quality measurement is based on the incoming
voice packets (ie. RTP packets) received at the Ethernet port of
the VoIP module. Constant snap shots are taken to the incoming
RTP packets to determine the voice quality at the local endpoint.
Key factors like jitter, packet delay, packet loss and the loss pat-
tern, etc. are fed into a voice quality monitoring process which is
based on the ITU-T G.107 model to generate the R-factor and
MOS scores.
Refer to Figure 44 for a diagram of the circuit setup and see Sec-
tion 2.3.1 for further details.
