Family Programs is dedicated to young families with children ages six and under, offering classes, programs and events specifically designed to help families grow and learn together. Family Programs holds Jewish holiday celebrations, parenting and pre-natal classes, Move & Learn parent/caregiver classes, family events, concerts and celebrations.

Are you looking for a meaningful way to engage your family in service? Bring your children and help local senior citizens celebrate Shabbat! Please bring along homemade Shabbat Shalom cards to share with residents after a brief Shabbat service. The way we process daily lifeending up in stress or joyis a product of our early experiences. Emotional Brain Training (EBT) gives us the power to re-encode our emotional brain so that we begin to naturally process stress in an effective way. Shalom Baby- Parenting and Prenatal Programs
Warm Welcome Visits
For young Jewish couples/families welcoming a new baby into their family, we offer caring support, a connection to community resources, a way to meet other new parents, and a gift basket that includes, cds, books, other fun gifts, and information on child development and parenting skills from Colorado Bright Beginnings. If you are a new parent or new to our Jewish community with a baby six months or younger, and would like a FREE Warm Welcome visit, please contact Jill (303) 316-6336, or jkatchen@jccdenver.org. We offer a 25% discount for multiples and siblings, and allow families to drop in on a Move and Learn class for $20 (normally $15) per class, as long as that class already has the minimum number of participants needed to run the class. There are no refunds for missed classes but if you choose to come for a make-up in one of our other classes, wed love to see you! Classes contain Jewish content, including songs, stories and recipes. Designed for expectant parents,this innovative program combines childbirth education with an exploration of the Jewish traditions and rituals connected with pregnancy, birth and parenting. Instructors Rabbi Jeffrey Kaye (Judaic) and Sue Geissler (prepared childbirth),lead this program created by the Colorado Agency for Jewish Education and co-sponsored by the JCC and Rose Medical Center.Participants will also join the Boot Camp for partners and Miracles and Mayhem classes to discuss the anticipated post-partum experience,communication skills, parental expectations and changing identities.
Helping grandparents and grandparents-to-be learn techniques and best practices in supporting your children in becoming parents for the first time,while passing on family values and traditions. Facilitated by Dr.Daniel Hettleman,Ph.D.,P.C.
Moving from being an only child to a big brother or sister is a BIG deal to you and to your child. Please join us for a morning of activities,making gifts for the new baby and big brother/sister and learning a bit of what to expectwhen the new baby comes home.
Learn. Play. Grow. Explore. Children and their caregivers are invited to a weekly Parent-Tot class. Led by Family Programs director, Melanie Gruenwald, this class is the perfect introduction to the structure and rhythm of the JCC ECC experience. Talk and Tumble Open Gym and Play Time!
Fridays, Weekly, 10:1511:30 a.m. JCC Social Hall; $5/child
Bring your new baby, toddlers or even your play group for open play time on our tumbling equipment. Get out of the house, meet new friends and have fun with old friends. This is an excellent chance to enter a yes zone with multiples, siblings and other little explorers. The JCC tumbling room is a great, safe environment for toddlers to explore and get out extra energy, especially during the winter months! Snacks will be provided.

We are excited to introduce our new Art and Tumbling teachers:
Claire Boyce Artistic Tots and Pottery/Painting enrichment Claire is a fine artist, poet, and songwriter, as well as an art teacher. She is passionate about art and feels honored to share this passion with children. Claire has an extensive knowledge of art ideas and concepts, as well as experience with children at different places creatively. As a teacher and a fine artist, she is well versed in the basics of art and loves working on a holistic level with children (the whole child) to help their creativity grow and blossom. Lindsey Ragsdale Mini and Maxi Tumbling Lindsey is a Colorado native who has been coaching gymnastics for over 15 years in a variety of settings, including preschool, recreation, and competitive level gymnastics. She is passionate about helping children to gain confidence as they improve coordination and strength through movement and physical activity. Our returning instructors include: Alison Bresler, certified Music Together instructor Jenny Fleming, Post-Natal Yoga guru Katie Swenson, our hip hop and dance teacher with a B.A. in Dance from Colorado State University. She has performed with IMPACT Dance, Moraporvida Contemporary Dance and was a member of the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble. Our returning partners include: LEGO PlayWell Teknologies, KinderKixx Soccer and Sticky Fingers Cooking. The JCC is the only location to offer Sticky Fingers Cooking classes to the general public!
New things in the New Year for Move and Learn classes.
New Classes/New Additions: Play with ME!
Join Rebecca Kanov, a certified movement and massage therapist, for eight weeks of focused and structured play for your infant. Each class will address a specific movement and bonding activity for you and baby. Caregivers will learn how to do some infant massage, as well as body awareness activities. This workshop is appropriate for birth to pre-walkers.
Pajama Party
We invite your kids to wear PJs for our new evening classes. Have fun with the kids just in time to wear them out for bed! Schedule to be announced.
